Billy spots them during lunch on his first day in Hawkins and immediately asks, “Who’s the princess?”
“That’s Nancy Wheeler,” Carol says and rolls her eyes a little, which makes Tommy chuckle.
“She’s dating Harrington, by the way,” Tommy adds as he sees a look in Billy’s eye, something interested and hungry.
“Hm,” Billy hums, flashing Carol a small smirk, “What’s the point of scoring if there’s no goalie?”
Which makes her blush, a little, while Tommy eyes him up.
They wonder if Billy will be successful in his pursuit, because Nancy doesn’t even like Steve anymore, it seems. Tommy bets that Billy will score, Carol bets the opposite.
The night of Tina’s party, Tommy watches Billy heading over to Steve and Nancy, so he tags along just to watch the chaos — but there’s nothing more than a stare down.
Nancy leaves, Steve follows.
And Billy huffs in amusement, puffing on his cigarette as he heads to the kitchen for another drink.
Tommy reports back to Carol, who sees Steve leaving the bathroom, near tears, with Billy slowly following him to the backyard.
Her eyebrows go up her forehead.
Interesting.
The next school day, Carol waits at Billy’s locker and smirks up at him once he arrives, asks, “So? How’d it go?”
Billy quirks a playful brow at her as he swings his locker open, tilting his head to the side a little, showing off the two little bruises on the side of his neck.
“You dog,” she laughs, delighted.
He doesn’t say anything, but that’s fine.
She can keep a secret.
