Holy feathers! Just realized I never made an intro post. Let's remedy that.
Cheep! Welcome to my blog, fellow aoex fans (And Cockatiel lovers too... I hope).
I'm Lucy and I serve as the Head of the Cockatiel Division of the Illuminati. We are currently looking for new members to join the Cockatiel Army in preparation for a full-scale attack to conquer the entire Assiah for our Glorious Cockatiel Leader (Guess who).
This is my secret blog (Shh... better the higher-ups don't find it or I'm cooked) where I reblog and post BS. Also got back into drawing, so might post my doodles.
I'm actually working on improving my writing skills, because English isn't my first language. Therefore, I want to apologize in advance if it sometimes sounds broken, ripetitive, or out of context. Also thinking about writing a fanfic for my OC from the aoex universe. Just an idea for now, might take a while before I actually write something good.
Currently looking for new moots to follow and talk about Blue Exorcist (or anime and manga in general). I have been obsessed with this manga since I was 14. I stopped following it for a few years, because the new chapters were dropping pretty slowly and no new season was going to be released. I got back into it when the third season came out, and I watched it with my bestie (My heart literally exploded when I first saw Lucifer being animated and dubbed). Right now, I'm keeping up with the new chapters as they drop.
Honestly, I love almost the entire cast of Blue Exorcist, especially Lucifer and Homare (not just because they both kinda look like Cockatiels, nooo...). I don't know if I can consider myself a HoLu shipper, got mixed feelings about their relationship tbh (I ship them anyway).
If you feel like chatting or sharing your thoughts, don't hesitate to send me a message or cheep me anything. I will try to reply asap and as best as I can.
Gotta go back to work before the Major catches me and scolds me again (not that I'm complaining, Ruffling her feathers is basically my hobby).
Enjoy your stay in the fandom! May your hyperfixation be with you!
As you can probably tell from the title, I've been thinking about taking a break from the fandom and from this blog as well. There are several reasons for this, but I won't go much into detail.
The rest is unnecessary.
Maybe I'll come back to this blog when the skies are clear again.
For people saying that Rin is a perfect, understanding brother: Rin has offered unbiased counsel to Yukio throughout the series, and when Yukio finally allows himself to speak his unspoken thoughts, taking him up on his offer, Rin fails him spectacularly. He brushes aside Yukio’s desire to want to know more of the past, as Rin himself does not want to know; in that moment, Rin is selfish. Even Rin acknowledges this after Yukio is taken into custody, regretting that he was not more understanding of Yukio’s personal issues, that he instead prioritized his own.
Rin is more immature and carefree than Yukio. He's still a 15-16-year-old teenager, after all, who's always admired his brother for his skills. But maybe the image he had of him was a bit too far from reality. After all, Yukio has been hiding his true feelings since he was a kid.
Only when that apparent mask of perfection finally crumbled Rin got to see what Yukio had been keeping hidden all along.
Rin has grown and improved throughout the story, while Yukio kept bottling up his emotions more and more. And we all know what happens when you coil a spring too tight, it snaps. And it snapped right in Rin's face when Yukio shot him at the end of season four.
You could say that was reality finally hitting Rin as hard as a bullet.
A/N: Okay guys, I got this idea from a few posts I stumbled upon while scrolling through Tumblr about other characters. So... I thought, why not make my own version with Lucifer from Blue Exorcist? And here we are. Hope you enjoy!
Of all the people you'd expect to come across while scrolling through a dating app, Lucifer is probably the last one on your list. And yet, one day, there he is; you've matched with him. But how could the distant, melodramatic King of Light possible end up in a place like this?
How did he end up on the App?
Well, it wasn't exactly his idea.
One day, Renzo Shima came to him with what he called a "brilliant idea".
"Commander, have you ever thought about downloading this App?"
"No. What is It?"
"Let's say it's a kind of social media that helps you meet new people (and, you know, some pretty girls) online, and maybe even in person. With your charm, Commander, you'd be quite a catch."
"And how exactly would that benefit me?"
"Well, you could use it to recruit new members for the Illuminati. Who would miss the chance to meet someone as charismatic and fascinating as you?"
"Very well. It sounds worth a try. I'm quite pleased by your dedication."
"Always at your service, sir."
Shima managed to keep a perfectly professional expression the whole time, but inside, he was laughing himself to death.
"If I may ask, sir. Once you're on the app, maybe you could, uh... pass me a few profiles? You know, so I can help you evaluate potential recruits."
Yeah, sure.
The gear in his head were already turning with a very different kind of plan; one that had way more to do with pretty girls than with new recruits.
Profile picture:
It's honestly hard to find a picture of him where he doesn't look like he's dying of some terminal illness, or at least constantly exhausted and about to collapse.
Shima had to apply foundation on him to hide the dark circles and use powder to cover the paleness, just so he wouldn't look like a walking corpse.
Thankfully, his uniform, cloak, and gloves take care of the rest, hiding that... decaying complexion pretty well.
Now Lucifer looks less like a terminally ill demon and more like a divine being with chronic fatigue.
"Is all of this really necessary?"
"Yes, if we want this plan to succeed. Now, pose and let the light illuminate your eyes."
"Too serious. Looks like a driver's license photo. Try smiling."
"...Okay, don't smile."
After what felt like an eternity and too many tries, Shima finally manages to get a somewhat decent picture.
"Exhibitionist and regal. I like It."
(Shima's note: He literally made me take more than 40 photos before picking one).
And thus, Lucifer's profile was born.
Bio:
👱♂️Lucifer, 30 (??)
📍Somewhere above your head
💼Commander-in-Chief of the Illuminati
"Light must be shared, even with those too blind to see it."
"Greetings. I am Lucifer. King of Light. Visionary of a new Dawn. I believe the world must be reshaped under a gentle Light.
If you share a vision of a more Equal world, we might find ourselves aligned.
Politeness will be appreciated. Discourtesy will not."
(Shima's note: The visionary you didn't ask for, but definitely got).
Matches:
Not long after creating his profile, he's already gotten plenty of matches. Many find his "ethereal charm" intriguing, others simply think they can fix him.
Swipes right on almost everyone.
"Each one of them could be a perfect candidate."
Every now and then, he asks Shima for advice on which photo might inspire trust among potential allies, or what kind of emoji would be considered more appropriate.
(Shima's note: I seriously hope my plan works out and he doesn't get ghosted after two messages).
"Hey, hey. This girl looks perfect! Send me her profile, I'll... personally handle the recruitment process."
"What about this person?"
"But... he is a man."
"And so?"
"Nothing."
Examples of Matches:
One-night-only girls: just saw a tall, pale man with immaculate manners and thought "mystery = hot".
Disillusioned romantics: been hurt too many times. Saw Lucifer and thought, "maybe he's different".
(Shima's note: He's not. He's just a polite and well-mannered sociopath).
Cursed poets: frequent absinthe drinkers, quote Baudelaire, and call themselves "observers of decay." Their conversations sound like verses from a gothic love poem. They have probably understood that Lucifer is actually a demon and they are fascinated by him (you know, they caught the symbolism).
(Shima's note: I told him to swipe left on them. At least they won't question the glowing eyes).
Conspiracy theorists: think the Illuminati are real... and they are right. They always send him YouTube links titled "The truth they don't want you to know."
"I'm pleasantly surprised that someone here already knows about us."
"I'm not sure they really meant Us."
Homare Todo (Wait, what?).
(Shima's note: I'm cooked).
His Writing Style:
He writes like someone who studied from ancient manuscripts and only learned how to use a phone yesterday (which he did).
His tone is incredibly formal, his grammar impeccable, and every punctuation mark feels intentional, almost reverent.
Every message looks more like a solemn proclamation than a casual chat.
He uses expressions like "I beg your pardon", "Allow me to...", "It would be my pleasure to..."
He would rather perish than use slangs or abbreviations like "btw", "idk" or "lol".
Often capitalizes words he finds conceptually significant, like Light, Equality, Balance.
His tone is slow and resolute, making a good presentation is important to him.
Words must be chosen very carefully, like every text took him five minutes to compose. Sometimes they are followed by a quote taken from one of his poetry books.
"Commander, you should text something more direct, like 'Hey, beautiful, how are you?'"
"That phrasing lacks decorum. I would rather inquire, 'Salutations. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance.'"
Messages:
Lucifer's inbox is a rainbow of messages. His range goes from flirty messages to more serious ones, and some others that can be labeled as "a case study of human absurdity" (worshippers, curious, trolls).
Flirty messages (and replies):
1)
"If you spent a night with me, I'd show you a blissful light."
"My dear human, your devotion to the Light pleases me greatly. As the King of Light, It would indeed be a pleasure to share a night in your presence, illuminated by a gentle and virtuous Light."
2)
"In that uniform, you look like one of the army's top-officers. How about marching straight into my bed?"
"My apologies, but marching on a bed seems rather impractical, as the surface would hardly provide proper footing."
3)
"Your beauty is so stunning that makes me go blind."
"It is understandable, human eyes are not always prepared to withstand the full Radiance of my being. It's a common effect, though I assure you no harm was intended."
4)
"I know a way to help you 'balance' the world ;)"
"Interesting proposal. It's always refreshing to meet someone who shares my vision for a more Equal world. Perhaps we could discuss this further in a formal setting."
Lucifer doesn't understand the subtext. Shima definitely does.
(Shima's note: If the Commander ever realizes Tinder isn't a "networking app", I'm so dead).
Serious messages:
"I'm not interested in games or small talk. I want something real, even if that means staring directly at the sun with you."
"You look like someone who carries the weight of the sky on his shoulders. Maybe It's reckless, but I want to help you carry it."
"You seem so lonely and melanchonic, not because you want to be, but because no one dares to understand you. I'm here for you, if you need someone to talk with."
(Shima's note: You can't fix him).
The others:
"Are you an angel or the reason I need one?"
"If love is a sin, damn me twice."
"Your eyes look like two shimmering emeralds freshly dug up."
"Wait, are you Lucifer or just named after him?"
"King of Light uh, like... do you glow in the dark?"
"Blink twice if you need iron supplements."
"Bro's giving 'Victorian ghost who haunts your house just for texting him' vibes."
"Is that powder or divine light?"
(Shima's note: I wonder if I should have used more powder).
Should you trust him?
Lots of people would think he is an unexpected match, but not an unwelcome one.
Do you want a piece of advice? Escape, swipe left. Don't let yourself be fooled by his good-looking aspect, his politeness or his dead poet vibes. He is a walking Red Flag (he's a demon after all).
He says he's working to build a better world, but refuses to explain for whom. He just claims that sacrifice is necessary for equality, but he never specifies whose. Thinks he knows what's the best for you, but he never asks your opinion.
And when he says "Trust me", it doesn't sound like a request, but more like a command. The eeriest thing is that when he says that, your brain just goes, "Yes, my lord."
So, for your own sanity, keep yourself at an abundant distance from him. He doesn't talk to you, he emotionally kidnapps you.
Eventually Homare makes him delete the app, but not before beating the hell out of Shima and giving Lucifer a very detailed explanation of what the App is actually for.
"Courtship, you say? Why would I indulge in such trivialities, when injustice and inequality still plague this world?"
People do not talk about how early Yukio was exposed to death in Blue Exorcist, even though it’s shown in the series. Victims’ corpses resulting from demon attacks, killing vessels that are possessed by Demons, etc. The nature of deaths related to Demons have been shown to be disturbing and gruesome throughout the series, too.
Saburota sets up a decoy car, with at least one human corpse (affected by the one of the Eyes from the Impure King), which Yukio sees. It’s not brought up enough that Saburota killed the passenger(s), showing how dangerous he is; he definitely would have been fine with that boy dying when he first met Rin and Yukio.
With the Impure King released and Karura’s power consumed, Saburota toys with Yukio by going through details of his life. Yukio has a flashback when he shoots a demon possessing a human vessel in the face, killing it. He looks absolutely horrified, and Shiro just passes by him clasping his shoulder as consolation and or praise.
Saburota almost killed Yukio with Karura’s power, pondering “how long it would take to reduce a human to ash” — he didn’t know about Satan in Yukio’s eye. Yukio is disposable, and he only gained more value and curiosity after his “ability” showed itself. Otherwise, Yukio would be dead. Their “similiaries” only mattered so much to him.
When it comes to disposing of the Zombies at Inari, Yukio is desensitized to the protocol of it all. He isn’t callous or cold about people dying. He has the most experience of the group when it comes to on-field experience as an Exorcist. Their goal is to rescue Izumo, and the Zombies are an obstacle to that.
I totally agree with you. Yukio definitely has way more experience than the others when it comes to demons, and he's been exposed to life-threatening situations ever since he was a kid. He's learned to be professional, to separate his emotions from his work. However at the end of the day, he's still human. You can't suppress you feelings forever.
Let's not forget that scene at the beginning of season two, when he told that mother straight up not to expect her child to be saved 100%. Imagine how hard it must be to say something like that to a terrified parent. But he did it, because that's what protocol demanded.
And then there's Saburota, who literally saw him as disposable and almost killed him for it. The only thing that saved him was Satan's eye, like you said.
At the end of the day, we can say that experience is what shapes personality.
just a silly little guy who shoots his brother several times
As far as I know, the first few times he shot Rin, they were fake bullets. The only time he actually used a real one was when Rin tried to stop him from getting on the Illuminati helicopter (well, if we don't count all the bullets that came after that). But even then, he did it more to hurt him than to actually kill him, since he knew Rin wouldn't die that easily.
That's not really the point tho. Like I said in my previous post, I'm not justifying his behavior. He chose to hurt his brother and everyone who cared about him instead of opening up to them. He decided to shut himself off rather than ask for help.
I get that this kind of attitude can annoy someone, but I think it's important to understand the character deeply: his personality, the way he was raised, and his story (which, as I said, is often overlooked). We shouldn't just focus on what he does, but also try to understand why he acts the way he does.
If you simply don't like the character, that's totally fine. Everyone has different tastes. What really bothers me, tho, is when people say they hate him for shallow reasons. It feels like they don't even try to understand him. I'm not saying you have to like him, but at least don't throw baseless hate his way.
You know, there's something that's been bothering me for a while.
I've never really understood why Yukio gets so much hate. Like... guys, he's literally a 15-16-year-old teenager who's been burdened with adult responsibilities since he was a kid. He became an exorcist at 13 and a teacher at 15; he is still a child, yet he's out there fighting demons on the front lines and risking his life.
People say stuff like, "I've been through hell too but I was never a jerk like him" as if their own personal experience were the universal basis for comparison for how a person should behave. Not everyone handles pain the same way. Each one of us reacts differently, according to their own personality.
He never really got the chance to cope with his own emotions; he was taught to suppress them and focus on getting stronger to protect his brother.
And honestly? I get it. That's exactly how Shiro dealt with his own problems when he was a kid (It's giving me generational trauma vibes). Instead of actually listening to Yukio, he gave him a gun and basically pushed him into becoming an exorcist.
Of course, I'm not justifying Yukio for treating Rin so poorly, but I think we should try to put ourselves in his shoes before judging.
People love to talk about Rin's struggles, while Yukio's story is often overlooked.
He's a kid who was forced to grow up too fast, and he's still trying to figure out how to survive in a world, and in a self, that's constantly telling him to be stronger, colder, better.
He was trained to fight demons, yet he was never taught to face the ones inside him.
“omg you’re so creative. how do you get your ideas” i hallucinate a single scene in the taco bell drive thru and then spend 13 months trying to write it
