hi! does your tutorial work for other than background? im editing something but the logo is against the shirt/face, and when i select fill, it erases the shirt and blends it with the background. does it make sense?

That makes sense. Yes, with a few exceptions the technique only works with the background. It also won’t work if there’s a lot of panning/movement back and forth. Unfortunately.

How to Remove a Logo on Photoshop - GIF Tutorial

I’ve seen a few tutorials for this, but I haven’t come across this specific method yet, and so far I’ve found it to be the easiest and quickest. So, here it is.

The following steps are all taken after you’ve cropped/resized and sharpened your gif, but before you’ve coloured. 1. Select the last frame of your gif and duplicate it. This is the frame you’ll be working on. 2. Now select the quick selection tool. Below are the settings I use.

3. Select the logo. Zooming in makes it easier, but depending on the scene it doesn’t have to be a perfect selection.

4. Right click over the image with your mouse. On the drop down select fill. 5. An options box will then pop up. On the Contents drop down select content-aware.

6. Hit enter or click ok.

7. Tada! Right click over the image again and select deselect.

8. Now on the same frame erase the entire scene using the eraser, except the area/logo you just transformed. And you should have the following:

After this you can add a radial gradient over the spot (before your colour layers/psd). It may help with certain scenes. In my finished "after” gif I did use a radial gradient. You can play around with the layer setting. I bounced back and forth between darker and linear burn under 100% opacity. Now you just add your colouring/psd and that’s it!

TIP: When erasing the scene, add a gradient layer right under the duplicated frame to be sure you don’t miss anything and delete it when you’re finished.
