Happy National Dog Day 💗🐶🐶💗 My hiking buddies. My camping buddies. My best friends. Our lives would not be complete without our babies. 💞 The brindle is my princess, and her name is Alex. She is a rescue. She is a Valley Bulldog: English Bulldog & Boxer. She is my baby. We have gone through a lot together. I am her therapy person (she came from an abusive hoarder that bred designer breeds), and she is my therapy dog. She has to be the sweetest dog on Earth. 🥰 The fawn color guy is my sons dog, and his name is Rio. Rio is also a rescue, but we have no idea what he is lol As my mum loved to call dogs like him, Heinz 57. He is a spazzy, cuddly, lover that was rescued from death row as a stray. He was saved - literal & figurative - by a friend in Crested Butte. And then (2nd photo) our Cat Dog, Austen. He is chewing on a dog bone in that picture. Lol He plays fetch, he comes when called, cuddles like a dog, talks to us etc 😉😊 He was adopted from the local shelter as a kitten. Love that little guy. What is your dog's name(s)? So Smokey today! It's smells like a giant campfire, and we are starting to see ash. No fires here, but we are surrounded by them, and unfortunately the smoke likes to settle in our valley. This is when my mother's passion for skiing began. 🥰 Pre metal edges. 😉 Before settling down with us brats lol my mother backpacked all across Europe, she skied in Europe, Canada, and the US, and between the passion being stoked until her backpacking trip she went skiing as often as she could, in as many places as she could afford. She then sparked that passion for skiing (eventually snowboarding) in my brother and I, which led to our kids passion being sparked; My mum began a multi generational love of winter sports. 💙 The last few years her health prevented her from enjoying her love of skiing, and sadly she passed July 1st from a stroke. ...Her passion lives on in our family. Our family has been through A LOT the last month...My mum had a stroke June 24th, was in Neuro ICU until July 1st when she passed away. ❣💔❣ The morning after (July 2nd) I had to rush my dad to the hospital, and then July 8th found out his kidneys were failing and he was rushed to another hospital with nephrologists (kidney/renal specialists). July 10th he started dialysis...Tomorrow is our 1st Outpatient Dialysis Session in Avon, Colorado. To help my dad pay bills of all variety I started a GoFundMe Campaign for our family. So far it has paid for my mums cremation, death certificate, costs incurred with my dad being in the hospital, and some prescriptions.
