“Your moves don’t got nothin’ on mine!”
“I think you might be overestimating my willingness to compare our moves.”
“Yeah I’m hoping they stay down for a while and maybe they’ll stay quiet, though that’s doubtful.” she said with a small laugh. “Roosa has been doing really good this year, I’m surprised. They definitely deserve it now.”
“That’d be nice and all, but I don’t trust that in the least.” He laughed softly and nodded along with her words. “They do. I think I just forget how well they do because they don’t crow about it all the time.”
“Yeahhh, I don’t really think that’s possible. But we at least took them down a couple, and shut up their bragging for a month.”
“Let’s hope the next match keeps their bragging down too. Hope it’s Roosa. Roosa could do with a few bragging rights.”
Good to know I’m not totally paranoid. I wasn’t even here and I still feel unsafe.“
“Well it’s not like th Brotherhood was sulking around in the bushes, you know. Casting evil little curses on people. The bushes are unlikely to jump out at you. Their members look just like the rest of us.”
“Well, I never say a thing about having a cocoa was wrong– even in the summer. But, how about coffee?”
“Nothing wrong with coffee either, but drinking it in the heat of the day is one of those things people think is weird.”
I can throw some ice cubes on you, then you’ll be perfectly justified in sipping your coco.
Excellent plan. Ice throwing will fix it for sure.
“Sure does! I think we needed to take them down a notch or ten.” she agreed, smiling.
“Think we managed it? I’m not sure the Awostings know how to go down a whole ten notches.”
Yeah I know, someone decided to set off something in the other room and the groundskeeper is cleaning it up now. It was just a prank, just ignore the smell.
Easy for you to say. I have a sensitive nose and that’s the classroom I’m headed into.
“You know, even though it took forever to get a win, I gotta say it feels good that it was against awosting.”
Luke started a small smile and gave Faye a light shove. “Does feel good, huh? Since it was them.”
Did you hear that or was that just me?
It was nothing, Haverwind, someone’s cat wandering about. It wasn’t just you.
“All great beginnings start in the dark, when the moon greets you to a new day at midnight.
Luke Balor ≡ FC: Avan Jogia ≡ 18 ≡ Millbrook ≡ Werewolf ≡ Taken
The Balors were a half-blood family living in a wizarding town in Colorado, on the outskirts of a Brotherhood commune. The Brotherhood was a known part of life in this particular town, where many families were a mix of Muggle and wizard. The Balors quietly supported the cause along with everyone else, though they tried to explain to their only child that there were many different viewpoints in this world, and that he should open his mind to all of them. Luke grew up attending the local Muggle school until he turned eleven, and enrolled in the nearby wizarding school. He was quiet but happy, he easily made friends and still loved coming home to his hometown and spending time with his family. Luke was around thirteen years old when the Government started its purge of Brotherhood communes. Although the town had supported them, the Government focused its attention only on the commune. However, everyone was thrown into a panic, wondering if they would be next. A few surviving members of the Brotherhood arrived in town, going door to door and demanding their supporters either hide them, join them in revenge, or fund for them to flee. Many families decided to run from them, and the Balors had lied and said they would gather money, hoping to stall the Brotherhood enough so that they could leave. Two members, along with a werewolf who had been protecting the commune, came to the Balor home while they were packing. Enraged to have been lied to, they terrorized and beat the family and stole whatever they could. This wasn’t enough revenge for the werewolf, though, and before he left he tore all three to shreds. By a turn of events, Luke ended up surviving the attack, but just barely. When the Brotherhood left the town in shambles, the authorities searched for any survivors and brought the young boy to the wizarding hospital. There he recovered, but he had lost his parents and was left with a curse of his own. He had been turned into a werewolf. Luke went into the custody of his aunt and uncle, a witch and wizard who truly loved their nephew. They moved away from the town that held so many bad memories, however they wanted Luke to finish his education at the same wizarding school so they only moved a state over to Kansas. His uncle put Luke in touch with a wizard he worked with, who also happened to be a werewolf and had learned how to live with it. Through the use of Wolfsbane Potion and his time with someone with experience, Luke began learning control. He made it through school and it felt like a relief to graduate, but then Luke was met with the realization that he didn’t know what to do with his life. Though he didn’t want to leave his aunt and uncle, Luke decided he needed a change. He enrolled in Branneth’s university and is starting his first year of college in a brand new place. It felt good to start over, even though Luke sometimes feels isolated since he doesn’t know many people. He keeps his condition a secret, not wanting to scare anyone. The Headmaster personally prepares the Wolfsbane Potion for him every month, and the rest of the staff is unaware of Luke’s nature.
Connections:
Blaine Ivory: Only a year apart, the two boys grew up in Colorado together and attended school together until Blaine’s family left after the Brotherhood attack. Blaine had assumed his friend had been killed along with his family, and Luke didn’t know how to contact Blaine to tell him otherwise. The two reunited at Branneth, though it came as a shock to Blaine. Faye Sterling: Faye was out late in the corridors one night when she couldn’t sleep, and she saw Luke running to the Headmaster’s office. It was the full moon and Luke was running late to take his potion. Luckily the potion worked and Luke transformed into a docile wolf who spent the night with the Headmaster. Faye, being curious, had followed him and witnessed the whole thing. She is the only one who knows he is a werewolf, but because she carries her own huge secret she would never tell on him. Jason Ivory: Jason remembers Luke as one of his brother’s friends in Colorado, though Jason was never very close to the boy. Since the Brotherhood attack at Branneth, Luke has been more on edge due to the powerful earth magic that was used. Jason has noticed that something is off and can tell Luke is different than he used to be. He is trying to get close to him in order to find out what it is and if the Brotherhood could use it.

Yes, I’m aware that it’s summer, but I wanted cocoa and I got it. There’s nothing wrong with that.
