Hey I really dig the idea of like a mimic nightmare? To the untrained eye they look exactly like a normal dream would, but are actually NIGHTMARE  AS SHIT. They usually have at least one thing about them that would tip the Dreamer off. In this case, some undeniably nightmarish eyes

This probably would never happen. But this is basically how improved Nightmare Bunny works (there is no dream version now.) It’s a Nightmare that goes along sort of leaving nightmare energy in it’s wake. It can touch dreams and corrupt them. More powerful ones can shake it off. Though Nightmare Bunny is generally slow, but can be hard to find in the midst of any corruption it spread. If It gets close enough it will pounce.

Sparow

State: Bad dream

Bed: A dark and light sliver ring she carries on a necklace.

She used to be a good dream. She mistakenly fell in love with a human one night. From there, she would fight off bad dreams and made sure he only had good ones. She then started collecting lower dreams/nightmares and mixing them together in hopes of creating dreams that would make him fall in love with her as well. Instead, she caused him to have sleep paralysis one night and caused her to start to “crack”. 

She never visited the human again after that.

She continues collecting lower dreams/nightmares in jars and bottles, mixing them still together and studying the results the mixtures have in hopes that she can return back to her former state.

State: Nightmare

Bed: A red metal puzzle key

Free-spirited and hard to pin down, Links is a Fever Dream that roams the dream world, never staying in one place for too long. Despite being a low-powered nightmare in comparison to others of her kind, she compensates by shapeshifting to something a little more ‘tolerable’ or terrifying, depending on the situation. Those, these are limited to small, aesthetic changes. Her specialty is Uncanny Valley like fear.

Links prefers to ‘Stay neutral as long as possible‘. Though she will fight if pushed. Shes a vicious fighter, so its best to not pick fights anyways. She loves to make friends and has a strange and morbid sense of humor. She keeps her Bed item in her bag, but sometimes she will swallow it for safekeeping (her logic being ‘I will pop back up right where I was! And a key in a gut is hard to stab’).

The world

The dream/nightmare world is obviously a whole different world than the humans world.

There exist constant dreams/nightmares (and i’ll just say dream/nightmares because it includes all the hybrid, pleasent, bad stuff n all) and lower dreams/nightmares. Lower ones can also be really big and strong.

A Dream/Nightmare has no boundaries of what they look like, though the lower ones mainly look like weird creatures. 

Constant Dreams/Nightmares are independent and can travel into the human mind when they sleep and create a dream or a nightmare. While Dreams would make their Dream wonderful they’d destroy any form of lower nightmare  that may be created in this time, Nightmares corrupt the persons mind in the worst way possible and destroy all good things.

The way a dream/nightmare ends up has to do with the kind of entity that is inside of it (in other words personal traits play a huge role in these things for the constant ones.). Constant ones can create powerful experiences for the person they invaded and may influence their behaviour in a positive or negative way. Lower ones may just create dreams/nightmares you forget about quickly.

The Lullaby world is pangea like. It is one big piece but also has some floating parts. It isn’t exactly a planet but world pieces floating in nothing. It still has huge open areas  with grass, woods, lakes and all but everything would look unreal for a human. The colors seem different and things have a odd glow to them. The sky is a mix of colors but mainly gold and dark green.

Nightmare Larkin acts rather lighthearted. He is playful and likes to draw things out as long as possible, playing and toying with others, regardless if they’re nightmare or dream. Once he’s had his fun and gets bored, however, he ends things as quickly as possible even if it means doing so in a more gruesome way. He thinks that nightmares are superior to dreams and think dreams who are corrupted should be thankful for it like it’s a blessing or something. Has an extreme dislike for Hybrids.

The crystal shards can jut out of him anywhere and he will often use this as a form of self defense, or shoot them out as an attack. His “wing” is the only part that does not ever change.

Bunny 

State: Hybrid

Bed: A music box with a tune that changes depending on her form. The music is usually this right here. It changes to something more discordant in her nightmare form, but still the same song. The music box itself looks like this.

She usually protects and calms children in the mindscape. She helps them either by fighting a nightmare or running away from it.

Her state depends on whether or not she has been killed. If the Nightmare version is killed she will become Dream Bunny, If Dream Bunny is killed, she will come back as a nightmare. She will pursue children in either form to calm them, but Nightmare Bunny will be more likely to become violent and will fight other nightmares or dreams trying to attack her.

Her dream form uses light attacks that burn similar to fire. Her nightmare form will use claws and shadows branching from her body to attack.

Owner: @fuhai8000​ Fuhai State: Hybrid “Bed”: A blueish-green piece of Beach Glass

The state you see her in will depend on the phase the moon is in. While there is a full moon or the moon is waxing, she appears in her Dream Form. Her Nightmare form on the other hand appears when the moon is waning or it is a new moon. Dream Fuhai is quiet. She feels the need to protect others from Nightmares as a sort of atonement for being part one. She does not actively seek out Nightmares, but if she comes across one she will kill it. Nightmare Fuhai’s behavior is much more ‘feral.’ In this state she hides from others and is hard to find. If someone gets too close she will lash out. In this form she is much faster and relies on surprise attacks, speed, and claws.

Dream + Nightmare update

((This is a very new concept I haven’t discussed much so it may end up being scrapped if people are more opposing to the idea than interested. Don’t be afraid to be honest, haha.))

Ever hear of “bad dreams”?

It is possible to have your dream or nightmare be in that state, but have the qualities of the opposing.

Let me explain a little more;

A “bad dream” is still heroic, will seek to protect the good of the mindscape, and generally will seek good morals, but does so in violent, deceitful, or other kinds of ways that relate to nightmares, despite not being one. So, they’ll do things like ruthlessly killing a nightmare to keep the ‘scape safe. Outcome for the greater good, but through bad means. Bad dream.

Nightmares can also have dream-like qualities. It’s a bit harder to express destruction or evil in a gentle, caring way, but it can happen.

Usually in these cases, the dream or nightmare will have things like cracks in their skin that show a small glimpse of the opposing state (black or green cracks in the skin on dreams, white or gold cracks in the skin on nightmares).

Despite how they deal with their activities, as long as one still seeks to protect or destroy in the end and is pure or evil, they will remain either a dream or nightmare. They can’t turn into hybrids and their state should always be what comes first - their “corrupted” side should always be small in comparison to their main goals as a dream or nightmare.

Hybrids are a mix between pure dreams and pure nightmares, so hybrids cannot have a “bad dream” and a “pleasant nightmare” side.
