People still don’t seem to understand that nowadays it’s almost impossible to figure out whether something was written by AI or not, especially if you’re an amateur when it comes to AI, like most people are

There is not a SINGLE way of writing. Just because YOU don’t write in a certain way doesn’t mean it’s AI. Sometimes you need to stop and think that certain things come from people DIFFERENT from you, who write in different ways

You urgently need to get it into your heads that there are A LOT of people in the world, and A LOT of people who write, each one with their own style and way of writing (ESPECIALLY BECAUSE NOT EVERYONE SPEAKS THE DAMN ENGLISH LANGUAGE)

So you really need to stop and think: you can SUSPECT, but you can never point a finger and accuse something you’re absolutely convinced is AI, because there’s a very real and very large chance that it ISN’T

People write in different ways, different styles. Some choose to be very concise, others like to explain a lot. Some people like using dashes, others don’t and end up mixing everything. There are professionals there (who will also use dashes or whatever else), and there are also BEGINNERS

On top of that, for most people English is not their first language. You have to consider that the author might write their draft in their main language and then translate it later, RESPECTING THE WRITING STRUCTURE OF THE ORIGINAL LANGUAGE. (People from Latin America, for example, use dashes like crazy, all the time, in any kind of writing)

AI steals content from people and, UNFORTUNATELY, you need to accept that we’re living right in the middle of it, and because of that, IT’S NOT POSSIBLE to know if a fic is 100% human or not. Sadly

And if something made you suspicious, KEEP IT TO YOURSELF. Because the moment you point a finger and accuse someone’s work that was written 100% by a human, it’ll already be too late to undo the damage. That person won’t feel like writing anymore. You’ll be responsible for killing someone’s hobby, someone’s joy

None of yall are the fic police. I DESPISE genai. I think its an insult to art, humanity, and the planet itself. But aint not a single fucking person here qualified to pick apart a strangers fic looking for a gotcha moment to make yourselves feel superior. If you think something is ai you can ask the author (most are proud of the ai use and will just tell you straight up) if they say yes you have your answer and can warn people. If they say no and you dont believe them you block and quietly keep it between you and maybe a close group of friends. Spreading misinformation is DANGEROUS. And NONE of you doing this shit are anywhere near qualified to do it.
