Attack on Titan Cafe @ Ikepri Canvas
I've been in Japan the last couple weeks and to start the month an AoT Cafe popped up at Sunshine City! I'm really familiar with Ikebukuro, but I've never ventured into the Prince Hotel (and I promptly felt poor when I did LOL). Its a really odd contrast going into an anime cafe across from a prim and proper black tie restaurant. Tuxedo dressed host gets to spend his idle time looking at an AoT cafe entrance LOL.
In the couple other anime cafes I've been to there's usually a point after last order is called where everyone remaining agrees in unison to get up together to start taking pics of everything. That didn't happen with this cafe. I was asked not to take pics where any other attendees could be seen (ofc), but since reservations were rolling in on the half hour (rather than set 1.5-2hr blocks) pics were kinda limited without the 'take pics' time. Also, no QR menu, they actually had servers running the tables!
ANYWAYS, AoT Christmas Cafe from December 3, 2025 :D
tysm for the hallway advert directing me through the hotel! There was a wall-sized video screen with the advert running too, but I couldn't get a good shot of it in the hall :<
Hello Cardboard Cut Outs! Hange's really the only one properly fitted for the sweater LOOOLLLL (pls take off the jacket Uncle Erwin)
My table and the gang above me. I love the cafe designs, they're so cute ;A;. Folks who made a reservation got a cafe clear file as a gift! I have a tablecheck account and my name is in katakana, but the blasted system recognizes my OS/browser/phone/whatever is English and autotranslates, so unless I remember to force it back to Japanese when I make a reservation, my name becomes anglicized katakana phonetics for the restaurant (and I forgot looooollll *dies*)
Potato Meat Pie (Sasha obv) and Hange latte! I like to think I know a thing or two about meat, and I don't think there was really any meat in that pie??? It tasted fine but I'm not sure what it was LMAO. Got a Hange sticker and Eren button with my order.
This hungry goblin probably took all the meat before it got to me...
A mont blanc (Levi theme judging by the description) & Erwin theme drink. The server called him Erwin-sama and I'm trying to think if I've ever heard Erwin get -sama'd before. M.Blanc was really good! The red blood droplets just look like decoration until you get it on the white icing and you're like "oh myyyy that IS quite the red" LOL. Got another Eren button and be damned if I can remember who my sticker was.
The cardboard cutout quartet again at the front of the cafe going blind under the spotlight. And some folks left at one point so I could get a shot of this trio on the wall. Sorry Sasha ;A; there were people in the way of you the whole time.
Also shout out to the woman sitting next to me with a fat A4 case full of Levi merch and having the best time adding everything the cafe had to offer of Levi to it. Also ordering his birthday cake. One of the cosplay ladies in My DressUp Darling said it best - great thing about being an adult fan is you have adult money to spend on your muses LMAO (I'm also guilty as charged).
If you spend enough money on merch (behold: guilty verdict) you get a souvenir bag! They give you the option of not using the bag and just taking it as a collectible (which most did). I popped across Sunshine Mall into the Seria across the street and got a A3 hard sleeve that the bag fits snugly into! Seria's A3 hard sleeves (and the smaller sizes) are great for protecting flimsy things! If you're ever in Japan and need to protect something (even a broken down fig box for the flt home) grab an A3 hard sleeve. Daiso sometimes carries A3, but I have the best luck at Seria!
And as a completely unrelated thought I tried to make this post the other day, but as I was sorting my pics an earthquake happened (the 7.5 one off in Aomori). My Yokohama hotel waggled and squeaked for 5 whole minutes, I'm too land-locked Canadian for thaaaaattttt. I completely forgot I'd even started this post for 2 days LOL. Hope you liked it :>
