Hello, I'm Lumi, I use they/them, and I do art and will yap occasionally, but I usually use my alt (@lumialt please do not visit if you know me irl for my own sanity) for that unless it is OC related. I do a mixture of oc art and fanart. I try to tag my stuff consistently, I usually use abbreviations for fandoms (BSD, JJBA, HSR), for characters its usually the fandom and then their name, and for art I will tag it as #art, #doodles, and #finished art. Please do not repost (without credit), trace, train ai on, or outright steal my artwork

I also tag my oc stories/worlds just so I can find stuff about them. I'll add a little section with a blurb about each one but not rn

Reblogs in a chain now get their own notes

The reblog chain is one of the things that makes Tumblr unlike anywhere else. All the notes on reblogs are attributed to the original post, no matter which branch people actually liked or reblogged. We want to keep encouraging conversations, and give contributors the recognition they deserve. 

Soon, you'll be able to like, reblog, or reply to any part of a reblog chain, and that note will go to that reblog's author. Each reblog will have its own counts, instead of one aggregated number from every version of the post. And yes, you’ll be able to like multiple posts in one chain.

If a reblog doesn't add anything, the love flows up to the last person in the chain who did. Your post doesn't lose notes just because people spread it quietly.

Past notes will stay on the original post — we're only changing what happens from here on out. Retroactively re-attributing all of them would be... a lot.

This is just the beginning. More changes are coming as we keep building this out – stay tuned!

Why.

First its the changing pfps to be circles, like every other platform. Then separating notes into comments, reblogs, and likes, like every other platform. Now whatever this is?? Seeing a chain with a huge amount of notes is always so fun because you can see how much its been reblogged but now hiding that is ridiculous.

What i like about tumblr is that it feels so different from every other social media platform that just feel like the same exact things but maybe the colors are a little different. The whole thing that is appealing about tumblr to me is that its unique and a completely different environment but in the past couple years ive been on here that originality and personality has been largely eroded.

Also the censorship is frankly obnoxious since it blocks so many things and blogs that are generally appropriate but say "fuck" or "sexy" and get hidden. 2 instances of this were @/hazard-symbols-that-fuck-hard and @/sexy-people-contests-2026 which do not tend to contain anything that should be deemed "inappropriate" for a 17 year old, but because there is no way to change age I'm stuck not being able to access these blogs and engage as much with this app.

If there is a mass exodus on tumblr know that it was caused by you. Not competing platforms, not political or economic reasons, but the choices to make a unique space into the same corporate wasteland that every other corner of the internet has become.
