As a living breathing ball of anxiety and other mental issues, I would like to tell people-- no, we can't just "suck it up" we can't just "grow some balls" we can't just "be strong" because for us, just living and breathing is us being strong. Just waking up the next day, is us being strong. Just going downstairs and saying hello, is us being strong. There is a wall there, a monster and it's terrifying. The beast feasts on our everyday emotions and thoughts, and it doesn't do so gently, no. It feasts and feasts, it dines like a KING. It sees you have made a mistake, and it punishes you for it. The creature doesn't care about your race, age, gender, class, or your measly human interests. It just continues to eat, and it thinks you taste like a gourmet meal. So don't tell us to just ignore it, don't tell us to overpower it. It's bigger than we are, and we know this. It can be chipped away at though. Slowly, very slowly. Over many trails and hardships, but alone, when we're alone is when it is at its strongest. Don't take the beast lightly, for if you do--- it will win.
