The Agent Above
I really thought Kai Ko would never return as an actor, but here he is, and this Netflix series is actually pretty good.
I kind of feel okay not getting a season 2, this season is good by itself.

The Wilderness Years 2?
I watched mostly nuWho for the last 10 years, I may not be able to quote anything (that's not what I'm good at), but I actually enjoyed the show.
I'm still trying to process what it means to have RTD and Bad Wolf to end partnership with BBC. I understood end of Disney run is pretty bad on the money front. Without knowing what is it like to make a TV show on budget, I'm not really sure what it takes to do that. Budget shoots has been done before where all the scenaries are within BBC's grounds and within UK, unlike recent years where the backdrop has gone international and consequently expensive to make.
We can only hope it's only the Christmas special that got cancelled, not another era where we walk around the wilderness again.
Same Actors, Mileage Varies
I really enjoy Short End of The Stick. Wayne Lai and Nancy Wu were at peak chemistry.
Wayne Lai and Nancy Wu are both in Short End of The Stick and No Return. Short End of The Stick worked but No Return didn't. Why?
I mean bad writing is a real thing. But I'd like to dig a little deeper on this.
Wayne and Nancy have plenty of chemistry together. Nancy's character in Rosy Business was the Chai Gau's (Wayne Lai) concubine. Nancy was great in it even as a secondary character.
Rosy Business soon became a franchise with No Regrets, No Reserve, and No Return.
The problem is, for the franchise, Wayne Lai's characters are strong and dominant. Sharon Teng is very very good at playing the domineering 4th wife and alter Miss Nine.
So by the time we're at No Return, there are some expectations. The audience was expecting Sharon to be back, which did not happen. Production casted Nancy, which I think she really did the best she can, but the writing was already running thin, and her chemistry only works when Wayne does not play the dominant one, No Return falls short.
Meanwhile check out Short End of the Stick.
I Love Kowloon City
I have been aware of cable TV in Hong Kong for a while. Their in-house homemade TV shows are few and far between, but all of them are quality TV. Recommend. Episode 1 on YouTube
Wubby
I've hopped onto the Gen Z bandwagon and started watching Twitch. Specifically, PayMoneyWubby.
It's really strange how a livestream couch can be so entertaining.
Lucky Day
How many times in your life can you meet the Doctor? Also wibbly wobbly timey wimey.
The Well
I really enjoy how Doctor Who is representing characaters with accessibility needs.
I also love revisiting classics from the New Who, and how it expands the original plots.
Recommend.
Lux
I am definitely binge watching right now 😄
Part Stephen King's It. Part Who Killed Roger Rabbit. Part Scooby Doo. All Doctor, continuation of The Devil's Chord. Recommend.
The Robot Revolution
The Internet is right, the promotions for Doctor Who is near non-existent. There used to be images per episode. Has Disney gone cheap?
Meanwhile I really like the plot devices used in the episode. With timely topics that's suiting for 2025. Recommend.
Hot take on HIMYM
Okay guys, hear me out.
What happens if the storyline for Tracy is intentional? It is the "high note" intended to end on because it'll get us talking about the ending for years?
Your Highness 痞子殿下
TVB has been having much fewer decent shows for a while. This and its season 2 "Your Finesse" are shows that I'd still watch.
Big Sister 大家姐
This show premiered in 1976 and it still stands today. I think editing really helps, it's 10 episodes and 10 individual stories. Some of the young actors are now retired veteran actors.

Honestly didn't read the comic, but the first episode on Netflix is riveting so far.
I know that a lot of people probably won't see this, but I've been thinking about it a lot lately, so I thought I'd say something.
Libby should be your new best friend.
This app is an incredible resource for everyone (at least in the US, I don't know if other countries have similar programs). It provides direct access to digital resources offered by practically every library in the US. These resources include:
eBooks
Digital magazines
Audiobooks
Movies (this is actually through a different app called Kanopy, but there is a link to it through Libby)
There is a wealth of topics included in these resources, and it is completely free.
The only things you need to access this are a device that can use the app itself and a library card.
I know that I'm biased because my Master's is in Library and Information Science, but libraries have been an invaluable resource ever since they were established, and they will continue to be valuable resources in the coming years. So please, take advantage of these incredible free resources.
