the experience creating art on tumblr and twitter is so wildly different because it’s like

twitter: you make one post that does not cater to the incredibly specific niche interest you have catered and 15 of your followers scatter like mice

tumblr: half my dash is DC Comics. I do not remember following a DC blog. I follow several DC fanartists and apparently have been for several years. I have no idea when they became DC artists. I have never read a DC comic nor do I have any interest in doing so. I will not be unfollowing.

But the thing I will never admit to anyone who's met me is how desperately I want to be loved, I don't think I could say it. How I want someone to hold my wrists and kiss my palms and smile at me, and want me, I want to be wanted and I don't know how long poetry or songs will substitute for being wanted.

anyway i think it’s really funny how this nsfw ban has played itself out. the staff has basically stopped trying to remove the porn and instead just blacklisted certain terms so that you can’t search for them, thus meaning that the only way you can see pornographic content is if you are suddenly and unwillingly exposed to it - in short, precisely the thing that the nsfw ban was trying to prevent from happening in the first place. good job, guys

that’s exactly my point! the ban obliterated all the pros of nsfw content (the existence of a somewhat safe/anonymous platform for sex workers to operate from, artists trying to get exposure, regular horny people being horny, etc etc) and kept all the cons (random porn bots following you, untagged porn appearing on your dash). it achieved nothing and in a lot of ways made things actively worse
