hi tumblr world~ it's been awhile since I last posted. There are just so many emotions inside of me right now. I don't know how many of you guys read my previous posts, but my family and I have been paired up with an organization, New Day Foster Home, for about 6 years now. To give a short description/introduction, New Day Foster Home is an organization based out of China that takes in orphan children who have physical disabilities/health issues.
The first child that my family was paired up with was a boy named Levi (his previous name was Anton) who had heart problems as well as a cleft palate. I visited him in the summer of 2012 and noticed that he would feel tired and have shortness of breath just from running less than 25 feet. Because of God's grace, all the surgeries he had to go through were successful and in the fall of 2012, Levi was adopted!

After that my family and I decided to sponsor another child named Wayne who was born with an ENT defect as well as having a cleft palate. I visited Wayne this past summer and he is a very shy but sweet boy who loved it when we pushed him on the swings. The reason for this post is that I just learned this week that Wayne has been paired up with a family!!! It is seriously such a blessing to watch these kids grow and just see how they are brought in as unwanted, physically broken children but leave as beautiful, loved, and accepted children of God.

The other part of this post, however, is dedicated to a baby boy named Reese. Baby Reese first arrived at New Day back in February of 2014 and I first came across his picture on their Facebook page. The picture was of baby Reese on a hospital bed with pumps and tubes coming out of his mouth and nose. I just remember seeing that photo and automatically crying because why should such an innocent and beautiful child go through such a painful thing? After that I would check their Facebook page and website for any updates on Reese and in June, he was released from the hospital. When I went to visit this past summer, I really wanted to meet baby Reese but was told that he was still recovering so we couldn't go see him. Earlier today I just learned that baby Reese passed away 10 days ago. My heart hurts so much right now. I never even met him once but I feel as if I lost my own baby brother. This sadness is coupled with the joy I feel for Wayne so my own heart feels so confused right now.
I guess I should feel joy for baby Reese as well knowing that he is no longer in pain and is now with our Father in heaven. Baby Reese thank you for fighting so hard these past few months, you're finally free now. I know that you're with our Father up in heaven where there is no sickness or pain or sorrow. Baby Reese I know you're in heaven laughing and smiling that beautiful smile of yours. Rest in peace.
