Greetings!

Hello to everyone reading this! You may call me Lena.

I’m the owner of the Crescent Moon Cafe in Slateport City, but this blog is more of a personal blog, rather than one specifically for the cafe. Some friends encouraged me to make one, and I thought it might be a nice place to put down some of my thoughts and maybe share a few highlights of my day, on occasion.

I’ve been chosen by Cresselia, and the cafe serves as a place of worship for her, as well as a place of comfort if you happen to find yourself awake during the later hours and desire a chat and a hot drink.

I do battle on occasion and have a full team, and you may also see some non-battling Pokemon around if you stop by! Most of them are very friendly and would love nothing more than to cuddle or sit with you for a while.

I’ll try to keep this post updated with any information I think is relevant, but for now, farewell, and thank you for reading!

This blog was made so that I could have a character that actually participates in some of the high-stakes events in pokeblr, so you may see some of that here--but I’ll do my best to remember to tag everything appropriately!

What kind of stuff do you serve at your cafe? I'm from Paldea so I'm curious about how different it is from the 2 million cafes we have here 🤗

Hello, Isabel--and thank you! I tried to make my blog look nice, so I'm glad you like it. :)

I serve a decent variety of foods at the cafe--mainly sweets, but some sandwiches and other light meals as well (including some hot meals; I'm a fan of comfort food). And I like to mix up the selection daily! Some items are only sold on certain days, and others just depend on my mood--though there are a few basics and popular items I always have for sale.

As for drinks, it's about what you'd expect from a cafe--plenty of different coffees, as well as teas and hot cocoa. And for cold drinks, I sell a few different lemonades and fruit drinks, and sometimes offer smoothies!

I've never been to Paldea myself; what are the cafes like there? I've heard there's a particular style of sandwich that's very popular.

The image of an actual Charizard stuck in a phone booth, though...oh dear, I can't imagine that'd be a fun experience at all! I doubt that phone booth would last too long.

What do you think of Pokemon that evolve with moonstone?

I think stone evolutions in general are interesting!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I assume you're asking about Moon Stones specifically because of the name? As I see it, while there may be some sort of tie to the moon, especially when it comes to folklore, Moon Stones aren't actually a part of the moon.

And even if they were--well, while Cresselia is linked to the moon, she is not literally the moon, either.

In short, while evolution stones and their effects are certainly interesting, I'm no geologist, and I don't see Moon Stones as being different from any other evolution stone.

I just realized I never introduced my Pokemon team here! I think it’s time to remedy that, so here’s a quick rundown of the members.

Echo the Gardevoir (♀)

My first Pokemon partner, she’s been with me since I was a child. She can be a little overprotective of me at times, but she’s come a long way from the shy little Ralts she once was!

Eggy the Togekiss (♂)

I raised him from an egg I hatched as a teenager. He’s very friendly and loves meeting new people--but be warned, he almost certainly will try to cuddle you!

Mel the Altaria (♀)

In a similar vein to Eggy, Mel will often try to perch on people’s heads. If you’re gentle, she’ll let you pet her!

Solara the Espeon (♀)

Given that I have a more nocturnal schedule, it might seem odd that I have an Espeon, rather than an Umbreon. But Solara has been with me for many years, and while she can be a little reserved around strangers, she’s a wonderful Pokemon to have by my side.

Champ the Pangoro (♂)

Champ may seem scary at first to those that don’t know him, but he’s a real sweetheart! He’s always trying his best to encourage and help take care of the team.

Noodle the Dragonite (♂)

He may not be as much of a noodle anymore, but when things aren’t too serious, Noodle loves to goof around and play! He can be a little shy at first, but once he opens up to you, you’ve got a steadfast buddy.

And that’s the team! I feel this post is a little long already, so I’ll end it here, but I might do another in the future featuring some other Pokemon you might see around the cafe.

I hope it doesn't seem to odd or out of the blue for me to ask you about Cresselia? You see I'm a Pokemon Researcher that focuses on Mythical Pokemon, so when I saw you were chosen by one I couldn't stop myself from messaging you!

May I ask how that happened? Also, how does it affect your day-to-day life? Does Cresselia ask your to do things? Do you keep regular contact with Cresselia, just in general?

Hello! It's good to meet you, though I admittedly didn't expect any questions this soon! I don't mind the questions at all, and I'll do my best to answer them. This may get a bit long, so I apologize in advance!

Cresselia chose me when I was fairly young--or at least, that's when I had my first encounter with her. You see, the worship of legendary and mythical Pokemon is the norm in my family, and as a child I decided I liked Cresselia, due to the beautiful depictions of her I saw and the fact that she brings good dreams, so I began dedicating most of my prayers to her.

One summer, my family and I were on a camping trip, and I decided to wander off alone into the woods. Long story short, I was attacked by a wild Pokemon, but was ultimately saved and healed by Cresselia. After that, she often appeared in my dreams, and over time I learned how to communicate with her that way.

Some of those chosen by legendary Pokemon are more combat-oriented, and meant to fight in their stead. Cresselia tends to be gentler, though, and so I decided early on that since she brings good dreams and dispels nightmares, I would do my best to do the same, through more mundane means. That's why this cafe exists!

My day-to-day routine is fairly normal, if busy. I do keep in contact with Cresselia through dreams--or I suppose it's fairer to say she keeps in contact with me. She does occasionally ask things of me, but mostly she seems to be content with me running the cafe and doing the best I can to help the people here.

I'll be sure to let you know when I have more questions (and I'm sure I will, ha ha) I'm just a bit busy right now, so probably later.

It makes sense that Cresselia would choose you considering how much you prayed to her. I'm sure she is as kind as the legends say.

Talking about myself, my family was more on the secular side. Not that they never said anything about Arceus or the Dragons, but it was never a huge focus. As a result I seem to see Mythicals and Legendaries in a more scientific way rather than religious. But all the same I've always loved the stories connected to them.

Good luck with your cafe! Perhaps I might try visiting it sometime when I'm not too busy!

All the stories are quite interesting! And a more scientific view makes sense, as well--legendary Pokemon are still Pokemon, after all, so it makes sense that you’d want to study them!
