I DON'T EVEN CARE that this epilogue is one that tells us that he's still fighting for the little boy who's childhood was taken all those years ago. Fighting to be happier. And he may not be quite there yet, but he's getting there. He's getting there...

This healed something deep within me. If you told 2020 me that this was a part of the finale I'd have never doubted the twists and turns of the story again. This exchange... It's exactly the ending that c!clingyduo earned. So hard to separate that, despite everything, the separation never quite stuck.
