   In all her years of being the Oracle, Lunafreya had grown familiar with receiving gifts and tokens of appreciation from the people she went visiting, and those she healed from the Starscourge. What had been quite awkward at the beginning had slowly become a regular occurance and by this point, Luna had become an expert at accepting whatever was gifted to her with a smile rather than lamenting at how she could possibly not accept what was being offered to her, and that she needed not to recieve something in return.

   Surprisingly enough, despite the similarities in between the gifts she had received so far which usually ranged from elegant flower compositions to rare trinkets the person had been holding onto for the longest time, the maiden had yet to receive something edible as a present. So when a girl who looked to be around her twenties suddenly approached her with some candy, Luna felt the need to giggle softly for once, accepting the thoughtful offer with a genuine smile.

   “Thank you so much. It is the very first time I am gifted food, and while I appreciate every thoughtful present I receive, I must confess yours is probably my favourite so far.” She whispered it quietly, so not to be heard from anyone else but the girl standing in front of her. She wouldn’t wish to sound disrespectful to everyone else, after all. “A little bit of sugar is always good, especially after a long day, wouldn’t you agree?”

   It had been such a long, long day. The Oracle had been doing her best to hold on as much as she could, but by sundown, there was no denying the fair maiden had been as tired as one could be. Still, she had found herself unable to say no at joining Noctis for a little evening chat, and what had initially planned to be just a short talk before bed, had quickly changed into a long discourse that turned minutes into actual hours.

   Lunafreya wasn’t entirely sure when exactly it had happened. It certainly was not because she found Noctis boring by any means. On the contrary, she had been quite invested in their discussion and to hear his opinion on different subjects and matters. Yet at some point, her body had been unable to fight the tiredness any longer and soothed by the King’s smooth voice completely invested in his speech, her eyelids had slowly fluttered close and before she knew it, she had already fallen asleep.

   She knew not how much time had passed since that moment and when she lazily opened her eyes again at the feeling of something, a warm, fuzzy blanket from what she could see, being wrapped around her form. Luna was quite sure it didn’t matter at this point however and simply snuggled more comfortably under the blanket with a little smile upon her rose-coloured lips, her eyes already closing again when she whispered her thanks.

   “Thank you, Noctis. You should sleep too. I really enjoyed our talk. I hope we can… talk more again, soon.”

   It would have been so much easier and way less painful for him, if only she had been able to use her healing powers to do this. If only she hadn’t been so… weak, still. It broke the Oracle’s heart that there was no other way she could be helpful if not by causing him such pain.

   “I am so sorry, Ignis.” The maiden apologised with a heavy heart, feeling somewhat responsible for what he was going through despite her attempt to help. “If only I could use my powers to heal you, it wouldn’t be as painful.” The wound wasn’t too deep, but the cleaning process was obviously still quite distressing, even for someone as strong and poised as the Advisor normally was.

   Deeming her work to be satisfactory enough for the time being, Lunafreya finally moved to the bandaging part of the process, breathing out a little sigh of relief as she finished tightening the bandages around the wound on his arm. “The bandages will need to be changed and the wound to be cleaned again later, but… It seems to be fine for now. Hopefully I did a good job.” She very much doubted this, but for now it’ll have to do.

   This wasn’t exactly the way she had hoped things would go. Being dragged back into the room with little to no regards by one of the Nifhleim soldiers, the Oracle huffed in clear annoyance at the mistreatement and wasted no time in slapping away the hand holding her down so roughly. She had been careless really, and she should have expected this would end up being the outcome.

   She was nothing more than a prisoner in here. A prisoner in what once had been her home, her land. Giving her so called ‘warden’ her best threatening look, Lunafreya sighed quietly, hands going to search for her necklace to hold, as she so often did whenever she felt so nervous. Her heart skipped a beat however, when her search for her pendant found her neck strangely bare and panic suddenly began to take over her. She surely must have lost it in her attempt to get away from the guards earlier. But there was no way they were going to allow her to go and look for it now, was it?

   Before she had the chance to ponder over the matter any longer, the doors of the room suddenly sprung open and a woman that Lunefreya faintly recognised as the one working for the Imperial Army made her entrance, carrying in her hands the pendant that the Oracle had been so desperate about losing just a moment earlier. Luna had no chance to ask what her intentions might be however, as the woman waltzed straight to her and a moment later, the pendant was once again safely tightened around her neck, leaving a stunned Oracle to stare at her with a surprised look on her face.

   Quick to recompose herself, Lunafreya could not hold back from giving a gentle smile to the other for the kindness of her gesture, regardless of their different stances. “You have my thanks. This pendant means a great deal to me. I don’t know what I would have done if I had lost it.”

   Again? They had been going at this for hours now and even if Lunafreya knew beforehand it wasn’t going to be easy, she truly had no idea of how tiring it could be. Not so much for the body, but more for the mind.

   “My apologies. I'll try again.”

   She had no intention to give up however. If she truly wished to become stronger and aid the King on his quest, this was probably the only chance she would get. The Oracle was determined. She would not allow herself to feel weak nor helpless ever again.
