Imagine back in time Steve

and while he’s 100% comfortable being back in his own time, he’d gotten stupidly used to modern technology and food and he just MISSES IT SO MUCH SOMTIMES.

Like imagine Peggy makes dinner and it’s this weird jello ham concoction and he just cries because he remembers Chinese food and Pizza and Taco Bell. God. He misses Taco Bell.

Or he gets asked a question and he has no clue what the answer is so he tells the person he needs to google it. And the person just looks at him like he’s an idiot. So he says never mind and goes to a LIBRARY to look the information up.

Or how the second Tony Stark starts showing his genius he puts little ideas in his head. “Hey Tones! Listen little man, isn’t the idea of an all knowing voice in the ceiling that can tells us everything known to man just.....you know. The bees knees? How cool would that be.”

It just makes me laugh every time I think about it. Steve loves being back *home* but it makes him cry inside at how much certain things sucked back then.

Tony: -Who told you that? I didn’t fight him. No. He wiped my face with a planet while the Bleaker Street magician gave away the store. That’s what happened. There was no fight-

Steve: Alright. Okay. Did he give you any clues? Any co-ordinates? Anything?

Tony: I saw this coming for years. I had a vision - I didn’t want to believe it. Thought I was dreaming-

Steve: Tony, I’m gonna need you to focus-

Tony: -And I needed you. As in past-tense. That trumps what you need. It’s too late, buddy. Sorry. (…) And I believe I remember telling all of ya’s - alive and otherwise - that what we needed was a suit of armour around the world! Remember that? Whether it impacted our “precious freedoms” or not. That’s what we needed.

Steve: Well, that didn’t work out, did it?

Tony: I said we’d lose. You said: “we’ll do that together too.” Guess what, Cap? We lost. You weren’t there. But that’s what we do, right? Our best work after-the-fact? We’re the Avengers? We’re the A-vengers?! Not the Pre-vengers? Right? I’ve got nothing for you, Cap. I got no co-ordinates, no clues, no strategies, no options. Zero, zip, nada. No trust, liar. *rips arc reactor off his chest and slams it into Steve’s hand* You find him, you put that on. You hide.

Saladin and his merry band: Orchestrated a lot of deaths during the Great Fuck Off Warlords-ing.
