I drew these emo cats
Emos & scene kids got this close to abolishing gender for real. I try not to think about it too much.
The idea of a popular teenage subculture where girl & boys pretty much all dress the same feels impossible now but for a while it was reality and it was beautiful.

Are you ready to rumble !!!
hi! I'm a medsang who might be interested in your essay- I do have a question though, how would sangs fit under the category of "pop culture and fiction based religions"? As sangs esp medsangs are not a religious movement nor do you have to be a "vampyre/vampire" to identify as a sang
Valid question! The titel of the course is kind of simplified and a little misleading . (And also translated since the course isnāt in English)
The course is about the more broad concepts of communities, lifestyles, practices etc that are based on a pre existing work or are of the more alternative nature. So pretty much everything that isnāt a traditional religion or historical traditional practice. Itās more akin to anthropology and sociology than solely theology. Weāve used religion as sort of a blanket term for all of it for the sake of the course work.
Im well aware that sanguinarianism isnāt a religion, why I used quotation marks around certain terms. Iāve been referring to it as a subculture or practice under the umbrella of real life vampires. (Which I hope is the correct way to refer to it if you have to put a label on it)
Some of the other stuff my course mates are focusing on are stuff like tulpas, blackpill/incel communities, copyism, therians and more. So itās very broad.
In the case of my work, sangs worked for my professor since itās based on vampires which are counted as supernatural and are heavily featured in media and fiction.
This is actually part of why I havenāt entered any sang related discords. I donāt want to make people there uncomfortable by coming off as a critic or like Iām trying to undermine something that is very personal. Itās a bit of a double edged sword though since a lot of stuff I can find are written by non sangs and thereās often a vibe off āoh wow look at these weirdos who play vampires hahahaā in it :// Or lump it in with vampirekin, vampire kinks or even just eccentric goths. Which has been very unhelpful to put it mildly..
Thank you the question! And i appreciate the interest! ā¤ļø
In search of Sanguinarians / MedSangās!
A very different post than usual but Iām taking a summer course about āpop culture and fiction based religionsā and writing a study/essay about sanguinarians ! Iām looking for one or more people that would be willing to let me ask them a few questions about the lifestyle/ experience.
Nothing intrusive, just basic stuff about the experience of āpracticingā sanguinarianism so I can get a better understanding of it other than just reading stuff written by mostly non sangs.
Criteria:
Be over 18 years old
Speak/write in English
For the sake of my study you need to identify as specifically a sang or med sang, preferably one that practices the blood drinking aspect
(This means no vampire kinās or autovampirism, simply to keep my paper focused on sangs since Iām researching them and their practices.)
Are comfortable having one on on conversations with me, preferably exchanging emails.
Are comfortable being quoted and referenced in my paper, but it can be using a fake name or even anonymously.
And to make it clear, this is a vampire safe and vampire positive post! No judgement only curiosity:)
If you are interested and available please hit me up ! My DMs are open !
I would be soooo thankful if anyone can tell me about their experience since most sites and forums are inactive šš also it would be great to say I had an āinterview with a vampireā like a real life Daniel molloy
