――― CHANCE PERDOMO ? No, that’s ZUBERI “Z” N'JOBU STEVENS ! They are the TWENTY-ONE year old child of ERIK STEVENS / KILLMONGER, and hail from EARTH-616 ( WAKANDA ) . They can be described as CHARISMATIC, ALLURING, & RESOURCEFUL but can also be ARTIFICIAL, DECEITFUL, & INDULGENT . They use THEY/THEM pronouns and are PANSEXUAL. Luckily, they were blessed with DARK ARTS [ BASICALLY BLACK MAGIC ] / DIVINATION, which will aid them in the war between the worlds. Will they join the rebel uprising or watch the universe go up in flames?
Zuberi didn’t get very many years with either of his parents, their mother not wanting anything to do with them, and their father being killed by their uncle T'challa. However, the year’s they did have with their father were amazing. Erik taught his child all about Wakanda, about they would go someday, after their dad finished his mission. Unfortunately, Erik never came back, but T'challa did, telling them what happened. The King of Wakanda offered to bring Zuberi home, to Wakanda, but they did not want to go without their father. Z kicked and screamed at T'challa, asking him how he could kill their father. The King expected as much. He got down on one knee in front of the young Zuberi, and sighed. “Come home with me, and I will explain everything. I am sorry about your father, but he would want for you to be home, safe with us.” Z went with T'challa, but he wasn’t happy about it. The first few weeks in Wakanda were strange for Zuberi. Anyone who looked at them whispered, saying they didn’t belong here, that they were the child of a traitor. It boiled up in them, feeding their anger at their uncle. Z used that anger to isolate themself from the King, instead they bonded with Shuri, hiding out in her lab, learning things from her. Shuri would tell them that T'challa was not that bad, tell them things about their father, and while they weren’t not always good things, Zuberi respected Shuri for telling them the truth. “The truth is Erik was not a bad man, nor a good one, he just saw things differently. He wanted to fix things, as we all do, but he went about fixing them in the wrong way.” Z listened, and he understood. Eventually, time went by and Zuberi began to give T'challa a chance especially after he stood up for Zuberi. “They are just a child! They are Wakandan, which means they belong here, with us.” The kingdom never whispered about them again. Around, Zuberi’s sixteenth birthday, they began to get sick. They were in bed for days with a fever, body aches, and many other things. Nobody could tell what was wrong. At midnight, on June 21st, Zuberi’s left hand experienced searing pain. They screamed, calling out for anyone who would listen. T'challa, Nakia, Okoye, and Shuri all came running, the kingdom’s doctors following behind quickly. Upon their arrival, some kind of invisible force began to carve into Z’s hand. After ten minutes, a single crescent moon was carved into the palm of Zuberi’s hand. No one knew what it meant, but they all searched for an answer. A few days later, after the moon had formed a scar, T'challa realized that it was a symbol for thhose who possessed the Dark Arts, also known as Black Magic. It terrified the kingdom, but the King assured that everyone would be safe. He put Zuberi in training with only the best he could find that also possessed the Dark Arts. Wakanda hoped that this would not change the child they rescued, the child they had grown to love, and on some level Zuberi wished for the same. They had fallen in love with Wakanda. They had grown to be thankful for their Uncle T'challa, Auntie Nakia, and Auntie Shuri. They loved their family, their cousin’s, even though the King’s children were more like half-siblings. However, something changed in Z that day, and nothing will ever be the same.
