Icaris grew up mostly eating fish for her protein as any other meat tended be scarce in Iceland.  It was a rare treat for her as a child to get anything different, usually if one of the family’s goats had to be put down for whatever reason.  

And then after her family died, fish or processed sandwich meats were easier to get a hold of for an orphaned girl.  She’ll still eat fish now but she refuses to touch deli meat in general now that she has the means to avoid it.

The scents of the city were nearly overwhelming right at first.  Regardless of how many times she shifted it was always a shock.  For that moment she just needed to stand and filter through everything so she could adjust. 

At least right now she had that moment.
