Quidditch series recruitment

If you don't know already, I have finished my Brazil series. After more than one year of working on it, I can just say "Finally!" This means that I can now move on to other things, and one of those things is my Quidditch series, which takes place in Alice's 5th year, after my Celestial Ball series. (Yes, I like doing series)

Why am I telling you this? Well, Quidditch fics mean Quidditch matches and Quidditch teams. Now, I could create players from scratch, but I decided to ask the HPHM community if they would like to share their MC for the time of one Quidditch fic (or longer if your MC is in Ravenclaw like Alice).

Positions available

Ravenclaw: Chaser, seeker (@lunasilvermorny Does your offer to use Luna as a beater still stand? @kc-needs-coffee I would love to use KC as the other beater, if you don't mind, of course)

Slytherin: Chasers, seeker, keeper, 1 beater (the other one being Rath)

Gryffindor: Beater, keeper, 2 chasers (the third one is Skye Parkin)

Hufflepuff: Unfortunately, the match against Hufflepuff has already taken place by the time Alice joins the team, as hinted at in this fic. But you can still volunteer your MC for a quick appearance (@lifeofkaze you know I would love for Lizzie to make an appearance)

Well, the Quidditch teams are nearly complete. I had a lot of Gryffindor chasers that volunteered, but I decided to go with the good old “first come, first served”. I also created/included 3 OCs (Virgil, Bartholomew, and Artemon) as they will probably play more important roles plot wise in the Quidditch series, and using someone else’s MC for those ideas makes me a bit uncomfortable.

Spots that still need someone: Gryffindor beater, Slytherin chasers and keeper, Ravenclaw chaser ( @drinkyoursoupbitch I saw in @samshogwarts list that Wendy is a chaser, so if you see this, would you allow me to include Wendy in the Ravenclaw team?)

how to stay motivated as a writer

Reread your old writing, especially those scenes you're most proud of

Write something silly. It doesn’t need to be logical, consistent or included in your story. Write something dumb

Compare your old writing to your new writing. Seeing how much you've improved can be very motivating

Explore different storylines, those type of storylines that would never make it into your story, but you'd still like to play around with

Choose one of your least favorite scenes and rewrite it

Read old comments from people praising your work

Create a playlist that reminds you of your wip

Draw your ocs

Don't push yourself to get back into writing the thing that made you stop writing in the first place. Write something else

Write what you wanna write, no matter how cliché it might be. It doesn't matter, if you want to write it, write it

Take a break, focus on another hobby of yours. Consume other pieces of media, take a walk to clear your head

You don't have to write in chronological order from the very beginning if it isn't working for you! Sometimes a scene you aren't interested in writing can become interesting after you've explored other scenes that is connected to that one

Read one star reviews of ''awful'' books. You'll unlock a new sort of appreciation for your own writing

Create a new storyline, or a new character! Anything that helps bring something fresh into your story. Could even be a completely new wip!

Not writing everyday doesn't make you a bad writer. Take a break if you feel like you need one

Remind yourself to have fun. Start writing and don't focus all your attention on following ''the rules.'' You can get into the nitty-gritty when you’ve familiarized yourself with writing as an art. Or don’t. It's fiction, you make your own rules

Go to sleep, or take a nap. Sleep deprivation and writing does not go hand in hand (trust me)

Listen to music that reminds you of your characters/wip

Remember why you started. Know that you deserve to tell the story you want to tell regardless of the skill you possess

Your time spent enjoying the creative process is infinitely more valuable that any final project you create. So stop putting yourself down for never finishing or posting those WIPs because every moment you spent creating something you loved is a moment not wasted. Your progress and talent is measured by your passion not your number of posts.

I know, this is terrible to know, that war is started, but please, stop hurting russian people with your action or words. Because all you done would never reach true problem of this - big politics and their games with lives. It hurt us, normal people. You can turn off swift, but do you realise, that you only will hurt civilians, not even one person of russian goverment.

Obviously, I hope that everyone in Ukraine stays safe and Ukrainians deserve all of our support right now but I also wanted to say that my heart goes out to all people in Eastern Europe and Central Asia who have been living with the fear of Russian intervention for years and now see their worst fears come true. I see so many posts about how "we shouldn't worry as Westerners because the war will not affect us directly" and while this is absolutely true, I wanted to take a second to acknowledge those who do have to live with the fear that it might affect them directly. I don't have anything more to offer than words and it's not worth much but if you are from Poland, Estonia, Kazakhstan or any other country close to Russia or Ukraine and you are afraid because you don't know what the current events means for the future of your country, I am with you in thought and sending you a warm hug with this post.

Have you looked at the four erotic statues of women being pinned down? That was what initially gave the game a "sexual content" rating, apparently. You also cannot walk into a room without finding art depicting some half-naked Maiden, and don't even get me started on the Sanguis Virginis business model.

What about the servants she infects and keeps around to serve her every whim? Not the nicest thing - but she is a villain, so one can hardly blame her for acting as one. Even still, the game files do make it seem that this is a relatively recent thing, and that the castle had a functional servant dynamic at one point.
