"Pink for Fairy is so... played-out. I dyed my hair lavender when I was still a Gym Leader. In fact, my entire uniform lacked pink entirely. I mean, look at my counterpart, if you wanna see what I mean."
Still rocking the pastel purple/green/blue look, though bleaching her hair is still a pain, since it makes it harder to deal with.
"Every region must have at least one Ominous and Overpowered Child. Them's the rules."
She's almost an adult, but close enough?
❝ Eh? ❞
She was agreeable to a leisurely stroll around the city block? The Aegir stayed frozen in place, fingers gripping the bottle of Houjicha tea a little tighter than usual. Not only was the Vulpo amenable to his request, but she was also leaving him in charge of leading them around the city and back again? Lumen's mind spun in numerous ways, excitement and apprehensiveness vying for exclusive control. He could navigate a barebones vessel through choppy seas without incident, but to lead an expedition through asphalt-laden streets…
It was an unnerving thought. What if he took the wrong turn? What if he… got both of them accidentally lost? He was an Aegir of maritime curiosity, not a city dweller with an entire urban landscape memorized by heart. Then again, he could rise to the occasion and conquer longstanding fears festering within. ❝ I'm away from that place, yet I still feel confined there, unable to escape the taste of salt and iron in my mouth... ❞ His grip on the plastic bottle of tea loosens somewhat, before the medic stood up as well, joints cracking from prolonged sitting.
He was overthinking again, wasn't he?
❝ You ran away from home? In comparison, I...❞ I stayed waiting for things that would never come.
She was braver and more intrepid than he could ever hope to be. While Gloam ran away from home for reasons unknown, Jordi Fontanarossa stayed locked away in Iberia's rotting, sea-laden landscape, keeping his head down and just... surviving as be as he could.
Without being seen and acknowledge by those wishing him gone.
❝ I... uh... didn't think that far ahead, Señorita Gloam. Perhaps we could just walk around, see the sights, and not concern ourselves with having a destination in mind. I-I'll get us lost, for sure. I just know it... ❞ Jordi paused briefly, that statement sounding odd coming from him. He shook his head, messy locks of ombre shielding his gentle gaze from view as a soft hue of pink tints his countenance.
An amused giggle, then a sigh. "How about you follow me, then? I'll tell you about my story while we walk. Stay very close to me, though. It's easy to get lost. if you aren't paying attention." She was tempted to ask for his hand, but she knew that it might give him the wrong impression, so she'd hold off on that.
"I grew up in a very wealthy household. My grandfather was a very successful man, and because my uncle chose his own path, my father inherited the business when my grandfather retired. However... my siblings and I... we're not exactly normal, nor were we raised like you'd expect. My father is a very image-conscious man, and a very strict one. He expected nothing but the best out of us, to a practically impossible degree, and I dare say that the man was insatiable when it came to our accomplishments. He doesn't know the meaning of the word 'kindness,' nor would he, even if it smacked him right in the face." There was a solemn bitterness to her voice as she brought up her father, backed up by a deep, heavy sigh. It was heaver than even the deepest of breaths she had taken back when they had met in Iberia, and a clear sign that this wasn't a topic she so readily brought up.
The fact she was willing to talk about it with Jordi was a sign that she was comfortable with him.
❝ You know... it's a rather odd turn of events, Señorita Gloam. I've read off maritime reports to my superiors, but no one has ever asked me to read them an Iberian recipe book... ❞ The Aegirian lapses into a momentary bout of silence, gloved digits tracing the weather-worn spine of the Iberian cookbook with utmost care. It was an invaluable piece of historical significance, an artifact granting a rare glimpse into Iberia's lost Golden Age.
He remained deathly still for several minutes, allowing a comfortable silence to fall in between them. Strange. This type of quietude was usually unnerving, but tonight it filled Jordi with an immense sense of comfort. What did it remind him of? Sleepless nights spent in Gran Faro's chapel, reading his parent's engineering notes by lantern light. Beneath the luminescence of his own desk light, the Inquisitor slowly thumbs through the pages, careful to avoid ripping the flimsy edges. Was there a specific recipe he sought? Perhaps... the iconic meat porridge from his childhood days. But does he want someone meddling with a core memory?
A transient sentiment of ownership passes over him like a tidal surge, leaving him distinctly cold. Biting his inner lip, he moves onto the next page, closing the chapter on a precious memory.
❝ Here it is. The recipe for Pastel de Nata. It's a custard tart. ❞ Jordi clears his throat, the dull light of his lantern catching the gold in his eyes.
❝ Para empezar, utilice una taza de leche, tres cucharadas de fécula de maíz, una taz de azúcar blanca, seis yemas de huevo, y media vaina de vainilla. ❞
"Of course I'm interested, though. Why wouldn't I be?" The Vulpo retorts. "Recipes I normally wouldn't have access to, read aloud in a voice that's easy on my weary ears. Part of my job revolves around food, and I'm always looking into finding people to translate their country's recipes for me, so is this much different?" The complement to his voice wasn't even made with any motive behind it, unlike what most would assume upon hearing it. She really did just find the Iberian man's voice easy to listen to and not to harsh on her slowly-subsiding headache.
But when he started to read off the next recipe, she would silence herself again. Slowly listen, pick apart the words that sounded similar enough to try and piece together the context, using the thoughts in his head as reference. If she had a notebook, she'd have used it to try and write down speculative translations, but alas, she did not. She would only begin to speak again once he had finished reading.
"Pastel de Nata... I've heard of it. Yan has their own variation of the dish, and I've made my own variants based on that before, but I don't think I've ever had the Iberian version. I'd like to try them someday, see how much they differ."
She would, someday. But not today.

She looked at what was clearly a transformed Ditto with nothing but silence and a blank face.
Was it trying to amuse itself? What was it even doing in her Gym?

He's worried about his two companions, both deep in panic and anxiety from the recent turn of events. He wasn't sure about how to handle things from here, but...
"Go spend some time with Lux, Chiora. I'll take care of Bel, so don't worry about him for now." A rather simple solution, divide and conquer.
"...Alright. Thanks, Hesperia." As counterparts of each other, it was quite often they found themselves on the same page, and perhaps it was time for Melchiora to pack back a favor from ages ago - Regulus had been the emotional backbone back in the early parts of their interstellar voyage, when Melchiora was processing the trauma from Paradise, and Terebellum was still grieving the loss of Hesperia and watching her identical then-stranger going through extreme emotional turmoil. It was something that the Shiny Necrozma was incredibly thankful for, even to this day.
So this time, it was his turn to be there for Regulus.
She made the unfortunate choice of going to sleep in her Chosen form, and woke up immediately suffering from stress sickness induced by the feedback from her powers.
She's since had some water, but food might be too much of an ask right now. Iona has already taken her phone to inform all relevant parties that she's in no condition to do anything for the foreseeable future.

THREE FACTS:
I'm usually pretty oblivious to western pop culture, since I catered my tastes to (usually) niche eastern media from an EXTREMELY young age (I was given unrestricted internet access since 3rd grade.) MY OWN MOTHER introduced me to (non-children's) anime because I caught her watching Prince of Tennis. She allowed it because we're Japanese and it'd help with me learning via osmosis.
Somewhat related to the above, I'm both a foodie and an audiophile, and even though I have an absolutely abysmal appetite, I do have a taste for the good stuff since my family travels a lot. I do also enjoy cooking and baking when I have the energy to do it. On the music side of things, my CONDENSED playlist on YouTube is 2000 videos and counting.
I rarely have the energy for them, but I have a lot of creative hobbies, and I like working with my hands. Wax sealing, drawing, crochet, cooking/baking, stuff like that. I've been trying to get into visible mending/embroidery, but my motor control isn't the greatest, so I sometimes struggle with the fine details.
EXPERIENCE:
How long? (months/years): I've been roleplaying ever since... 2014? I have been on Tumblr since I was old enough to have an account, started RP later that year, quite literally learning RP etiquette via trial by fire, and while I've taken a couple year-long+ hiatuses, I keep coming back. There are people here who remember me from when I was a baby stumbling around and navigating how the fuck being on the internet works.
Platforms you've used: Uhh.... Tumblr and Discord, a couple other sites very briefly.
Best experience: Meeting my long-time accomplices @oflegendariesandtrainers and @castelias-comeups, back when all three of us were in the Touhou RPC. They've quite literally watched me grow up, and I would not be the same person without them.
MUSE PREFERENCES:
Female or Male: My muses? I feel like I have a better handle on female/NB muses, since I'm AFAB and therefore I have a lot more experience with the subtleties of the experiences of those muses, but I have a fair amount of male muses as well. As for the muses I like writing with? Don't care as long as the dynamic is fun. If anything, my muse preferences are more of a matter of mun chemistry than anything.
Fluff, Angst, or Smut: The list of people I'm comfortable writing smut with is short. The list of people I'll write smut with that are actually interested in writing smut is shorter. I'll take the other two any day, though.
Plots or Memes: Yes.
Long or Short Replies: I don't like super short replies unless it's dash comm or crack. Longer-form writing is more my speed. I like having something to work with.
Best Time To Write: Uhhh, depends on when I can wrangle my braincells. The mental disorder soup that is my brain can be fickle, but if I'm online, I'm usually down to clown.
Are You Like Your Muse(s): Yuu and I share some similarities, but we've got very different formative experiences that give a fair bit of contrast. The rest of my muses vary.

❝ ¿Qué? no entiendo. ❞ Her close proximity was already putting him on edge, as the hairs on the back of his neck stood on end. Gloved digits tighten around the bail of his brass lantern, his grasp becoming vice-like, until his knuckles creaked from the additional pressure. Perhaps Lumen shouldn't have waited for Gloam's straightforward explanation. Because the next course of action was to jump out of his chair in sheer panic, countenance reddening.
He was truly defining the meaning of 'fish out of water'.
❝ Huh? You want an answer? P-Please have mercy, Operator Gloam. ❞ Jordi mutters beneath his breath, his Iberian accent thickening. The Aegir immediately lowers his head, eyes focused on the floor below him. As if wishing to simply disappear.
"I was mostly joking, you don't need to give me an answer if you're not comfortable. If it was too far, I apologize." She liked to tease people like Jordi, sure, but she had standards, and she wasn't going to make him uncomfortable. One hand would rest gently on his shoulder, as a means of grounding the Aegir, the other would try to coax his own hand into unraveling. She was the one who worked him into a panic, so she would be the one who soothed him.
"Breathe. Take my hand and breathe, Lumen. Can you do that for me?"

"Lumen, you poor sweet thing. That's not what they mean by 'smash or pass.'" She would lean in closer, whispering in his ear a very straightforward explanation of what the question actually meant, one with no room for misinterpretation.
"So, would you like to answer that question again?"
Gloam, you're going to kill this poor man.
It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. A chance to redeem himself after a tumultuous start in life. Would Uncle Thiago approve of his methodology? The old Liberi was already firmly set in his ways, and not easily swayed by golden tongues and empty promises. He was a byproduct of Iberia's harsh environment, just as Jordi was a result of due diligence, and cautious mannerisms in a quest for survival. ❝ The books, I read as a child were probably outdated versions of the original, but it made me dream of faraway lands. And if certain events hadn't transpired, who knows where I would be. Probably... still in that old chapel... back home. ❞
His own safe haven; an enclosed harbor where seafaring vessels sought refuge from incoming storms. Or... a place of eternal stagnation, where time stands still.
Coincidental or not, he has been blown off course by an amalgamation of well-timed occurrences, happening one after the other. What new challenges will the future bring? Lumen will just have to wait and see how it all unfurls from here. ❝ Heh. I can assure you, Señorita Gloam. You won't have to repeat yourself twice in a row. I've… learned my lesson... ❞ The Inquisitor reiterates his statement, lips curling into a reflective smile. He reached for his half of the dorayaki, eyes aglow as he stared down at the delicate looking confectionery in his hand. For the briefest moment in his life, a twinge of regret crept up on him.
Was Jordi becoming sentimental over a pastry, of all things? Silly, wasn't it?
One bite, then two. He finished off the confectionery in little time, savoring the mild sweetness, and gossamer texture lingering on his tongue. So, what's next? Another sampling of Higashinese confectioneries? Ah, but he was a medical professional all the same. An exercise in moderation is exactly what the doctor ordered. Especially after ingesting a higher content of sugary foods than what he was normally used to consuming in a sitting. With a subtle stretch of his shoulder muscles, the operator tilts his head heavenward, observing the skyline half hidden amongst the thick canopy of leaves.
Perhaps a leisurely stroll would suffice. But Lumen didn't want to burden the Vulpo with such a ridiculous sounding request.
Well... It wouldn't hurt to ask, anyway.
❝ Perdóname, Señorita Gloam. This may seem like a sudden request coming out of nowhere, but I-I... was wondering if we could... um... walk around town a little. That is... if it isn't too troublesome. ❞ Jordi queries in a lower timbre, facial expression reflecting an equal mixture of sheepishness and curiosity.
"The world is such a vast, mysterious place, especially if you've been trapped in one place your entire life, isn't it? When I ran away from home, even the city I lived in felt so new, so novel when I was no longer in the cage I was being kept in all my life. First that city, then the surrounding areas, and then when I had the means to do so, I left Higashi altogether, just myself and the friend who decided to follow me." It was rare she brought up the man who joined Rhodes with her, not because they had drifted apart, but because he simply wasn't relevant to most of the conversations she had with people, and anyone at Rhodes who knew of one likely knew of the other.
"Still, I don't mind burning a few calories with a stroll. Weather's nice, we've plenty of time to kill, and we're in a pretty part of the city. Why not?" She stood up, carrying the remaining sweets and her tea in the bag, then glanced up at the Aegir.
"Where to, Lumen?"
Oh, that man is boned. She's glad she got out of bed today. Hisao-ojisan is going to have a field day.
What a good time for some piping hot tea.
Polaris wasn't prepared to see Anka, and the creature would cause him to step backward out of instinct--preparing to defend himself as necessary. However, as it sniffed the air around him and soon returned to Yuugetsu's side to relax, Polaris would relax as well.
However, his state of panic seemed to be like a sort of beacon, because as soon as the strange sphere was returned to its hiding place...
"Lord Polaris!"
...another person--this one with short red hair and a more casual manner of dress--would run over, slowing down as soon as he got close to Yuugetsu and Polaris. As he looked the other over, he was trying to calm himself down.
"Lord Polaris, you look panicked. Are you hurt? Is the city under attack?"
"I'm fine, Altair. Just a bit startled, that's all--the city's safe, as well." Polaris shakes his head as Altair continues looking him over for a few more moments. Eventually, once the other man was satisfied, he'd turn his attention right onto Yuugetsu.
"So, can I ask about the child, Lord Polaris?"
"Her name is Yuugetsu, Altair. According to what she has explained thus far, Yukin has some hand in her presence here--and is one of the individuals keeping watch over her. However, as she's on her own, I had planned to show her around the city and act as her direct guardian in the event of trouble."
"And what caused you to panic, Lord Polaris?" Altair asks.
"She has some sort of strange creature that I have never seen before. Its sudden appearance caught me off-guard, and its protective nature made me believe that I would need to defend myself."
"Ah... right, um... I should explain, shouldn't I?" The sudden arrival of Altair, and the reason behind said arrival being because of Anka had the poor girl a bit frazzled, but she's had to give this explanation many times before, so as soon as she regained her composure, took a deep breath, and gave a hard blink, she'd meet the gazes of the men before her.
"The taming of my realm's creatures is a common pastime... and training them for sport combat is our most popular hobby. Of course, these creatures are treated much like companions, and most of us in the hobby take the utmost care for them. They're known as Pokémon, and they're an irreplaceable part of my world's lifestyle, since they also provide us with food and raw materials, as well as helping us in our day-to-day lives. Actually, since she's uh... not as defensive as Anka..." A different sphere would be retrieved from her sleeve, and a different creature emerged. Cloudy, blind eyes seemed to stare right at the two men, but the pale felid creature seemed far more placid in nature.
"This is Iona. She's trained to help me when I panic."
