Okay so I have to reblog this again with some info to non-Finnish people. While Hevisaurus (Heavysaurus) is kids’ band, their music is made exact the same way as adult metalheads’ power metal. Only difference is the lyrics. If you listen to any power metal band and compare it to Hevisaurus, you will not hear any difference. All performers are long time heavy and rock musicians themselves and their aim has always been to make real heavy metal, even when the target audience is children.

Just listen the song Räyh (Roar) and hear it yourself.

Hevisaurus have their photo on the walls of Hard Rock Café and have also been listed in the Hard Rock Café’s international database of artists/bands. They are the second Finnish band, besides Amorphis, who have received the honor.

They have received Emma prize, which is Finnish equivalent to Grammy. In 2010 their album was the 2nd most sold in the country.

They have released music localized in Swedish, Hungarian, German and Spanish.
