Right. Starting off my analysis of villains. Here is one of the more obvious and most famous. The one and only Darth Vader. As you can see above, Darth Vader was not always Darth Vader. He was a human, known as Anakin Skywalker. So here I explain what it was that happened that caused the radical change from “Chosen One” to “Sith Lord”
As we are introduced to the character, he is a slave and only a child. He had no father and was gifted in many ways. It is soon discovered that Anankin is the chosen one and is meant to bring balance to the force. He is set free of slavery and leaves with Qui Gon, but his mother remains a slave.
Anakin becomes the apprentice of Obi Wan Kenobi and soon develops a romance with Queen Padmé Amidala, which is kept secret. he later travels to Tatooine to discover that his mother has been killed. This is where we see a change in the character of Anakin, as the death of his mother causes him to savagely murder those that were involved in her death. He feels guilt for his crime and breaks down to Padmé. After losing his arm during a duel, he and Padmé marry in secret.
Three years later, a jedi knight, Anakin decapitates Count Dooku in cold blood after being urged to by Palpatine. This shows the darker side of Anakin again, as it did when his mother was killed. Later on Palpatine manipulates Anakin into believing that him joining the sith will save Padmé from dying. Anakin joins the Sith and becomes Palpatine’s apprentice. Doing this, he kills Mace Windu along with many others, including women and children. He later suffers third degree burns and is put into a black armour suit and given cyberkinetic limbs. He also discovers that he killed Padmé, implying that had he stayed on the good side of the force, she would never have died.
In conclusion, I would say that Anakin’s dark side was always there. it was implied from the moment he went on a rage an killed those responsible for his mother’s death. I would not personally that he commited any of his crimes out of pure evil, more out of anger, rage and distress. He commited his first due to the grievance of his mother’s death. The second he commited, was due to manipulation at the hands of the Sith Lord and those following he did believing that doing so would save Padmé from death. His villainy was basically caused due to anger and distress. And it is later implied that he actually had a heart, as he saved his son and killed Palpatine, sacrificing himself.
