"he was just my tammy" you're fucking joking.
just cause will said it, doesn't make it true guys... jeez, ofc he's gonna think that!! I still believe it's happening, and you guys should too. btw yeah the coming out scene was impersonal and a bit cheesy, but noahs acting was incredible, and they justified the impersonalness by vecna using wills secret against him
will is an unreliable narrator and yes he definitely thinks mike doesn't like him back and he's believing he needs to move on and not be afraid of his feelings / let them still be a secret weakness against him. that's fair. for me at least, it's not purely about what will said but what the writers are telling the audience through his words. i haven't given up, not at all, but it's wild to have will call mike his tammy when no one knows what tammy means in this situation except for robin so it's something pointedly for the audience to pick up. and that's the frustrating part. it's part of still keeping byler as the twist and hiding will's love. yes, mike knows now and there's still very much potential for them to come together with their feeling but it was just . frustrating to see and hear.
I hate the "He was just my Tammy" thing as much as anyone, but that's just how Will sees the situation right now. And, as stated above, that line only makes sense to Robin, Will, and the audience. Well, and Steve, I guess.
But you don't turn Will's struggles with liking boys into a plot device that forces him to come out, only to have him assume he's rejected. Mike still doesn't know Will likes him, though he may have an idea of it after that.
It's going to come down to Mike doing something about it. He reacted to Will saying he wants to show Vecna he isn't afraid anymore.
What ideal character is Mike trying to live up to, again?

My Hogwarts Castle Design
Some of my notes regarding it can be found here and some of my rambling about the castle's architecture here along with the map of the castle's environment here.
In this post, I'm just going to post the images I came to as an amalgamation of all book quotes regarding the castle's structure merged with the basic structure and some floor plan elements from Hogwarts Legacy (since the castle is gorgeous and similar in aesthetic to the movies versions. I'm saying versions because every movie had a differently designed Hogwarts).
Maybe I can make a post regarding all the book quotes that went into this design like Ron saying the lake is to the south of the school (PoA), the DADA and the Transfiguration office have a view of the Quidditch Pitch (OotP, PoA) and the Quidditch Pitch is near the lake (OotP), the lawn for the flying classes is on the opposite side of the grounds to the Forbidden Forest (PS) and the Whomping Willow is visible from the Herbology Greenhouses (CoS), the moving staircases aren't accessible from the ground floor near the Great Hall (PS), Myrtel's bathroom near the DADA office (CoS), hidden passage with the trick step being near the DADA office on the 2nd floor (location mentioned in HBP, but the passage itself is mentioned in multiple books), etc.
So without further ado, my attempt at a Hogwarts floor plan:
the hp economy pisses me off so I fixed it do ya'll want it

duhh
mkay here u go:
to make things easier for everyone invloved (me) the Pound to Galleon ratio is 1:1 bc I don’t wanna do any more math than necessary <3
Galleon is a circular gold coin with a dragon printed on the front (all of them have prints bc I am Full of Whimsy) it's about the same size as a regular British Pound. Again, the worth of a Galleon is one (1) British Pound and vice versa just to make it all easy and I can't imagine them being a secret society but being able to get away with making coins that are worth more than pounds without anyone noticing
A Ullium is a large, silver, coin (only slightly larger than a Galleon), in the shape of a decagon, that has a cat printed on the front bc I'd assume they'd put familars on there and also my personal headcannon is that they have a saying like "a cat is a witches best friend" like "A dog is a mans best friend" (I just really like cats and needed an excuse) I know a dragon isn't a familar but I would just find it really unrealistic if they have dragons in their world and just....didn't??? do anything??? with it??? (I just really like dragons) anyway it's half a Galleon so to make a Galleon with it you'd just need two of them. think of them as the magical 50p. Also it's called a Ullium because they named it after the first, and apparently best, minister of magic
A Sickle is a small, circluar, silver, coin, with the print of a griffin on the front. (again not a familar but what are you gonna do about it???). It's a fith of a Galleon so you'd need five of them to get one Galleon. Its essentially a magical 20p that looks like a 5p for some reason
A Knut is a little bronze coin with a goat on it (fun fact that I probably should’ve known sooner: goats were believed to be magical or spiritual powers!!!! (probably the reason why goats/lambs were always the ones sacrificed) sick right???? Anyways thought that was cool, slapped it on a coin what you gonna do about it champ) its very rare to make a Galleon out of Knuts (heh nice) but if you were going to do it like an absolute weirdo you'd need 21 of these guys 👍
A Coronet is a small, reddish, coin about the size of a 20p but is only really used as change (about as usefull as a penny or 5p) but it has a ferret on it bc ferrets r smoll and so is this coin. I named it the Coronet bc was the name of an actual currency once used in England but bc of inflation my bbg doesn’t exist anymore :( so i thought this would be a nice nod to my favourite coin that doesn't exist anymore 🫡☹️
if you are nerd, math is here:
Galleon to pound ratio is 1:1 Sickle = fifth of Galleon (5 of them make 1 Galleon) Wanna make a sickle through knuts??? First of all, why?, Second of all you just need 7 of them to make 1 sickle To make a (1) Galleon through knuts like a dumbass you’d need 21 knuts Though maybe not as much of a dumbass as people who wanna make a (1) Galleon out of Coronets HAHAHA have fun counting out 63 of them bitches suckers!!! (Coronets are a third of a Knut bc...I really am in too deep aren’t I) Anyway if you wanted to make a Galleon with a Ullium, like the smart person you are, you’d only need 2
there u go bb holy shit I like to yap huh
A Possible Theory on Why Some Fandoms Are More Popular And Long Lasting Than Others
So i was thinking the other day, why the hell are some book/movie/game/etc fandoms lasting for 50+ years and others die in a year?
I was comparing some of my favourite fandoms, the Percy Jackson fandom and the Harry Potter fandom and what I noticed and discovered is to make a good fan base, you HAVE to create a good organisation in your story/game/movie/book etc.
What do I mean?
In Percy Jackson for example, we have our main character’s home base. Camp Half Blood. It’s developed in the background throughout the whole series, there is a companion book on the Camp itself, and the whole area is relatively fleshed out and utilised throughout the whole series. It’s described in detail, there are official maps released, people love the camp.
In Harry Potter, we have, of course, Hogwarts. It’s by far more developed than Camp Half Blood, with detailed classes, architecture, art, story, lore, founders. And our main characters spend majority of their time in the building itself. Hell, even the villains of the story used to attend Hogwarts
Why does this matter? Why does world building matter?
Aha. Here’s my hook. Fandoms stay alive as long as fans stay connected to the community. And how else to develop the strongest connection possible than fans being able to build their own original characters or ocs and imagine they’re in the story?
Human imagination is a powerful thing, as soon as they have a world (Hogwarts and Camp Half blood) to build off of, they can create their own characters and imagine more stories building off the Canon to keep their love for the universe alive.
This is why role play communities are so popular, in addition to having your original character and developing a story for them, having a community to showcase and use your character greatly increases your attachment to this community.
Once you make your fans feel like they are part of your world, it’s the strongest connection. Because by default, humans are selfish, they feel more close to something if it’s like they have involvement in it.
Characters VS World Building.
It’s the age old question, what’s more important?
Neither.
No one is more important than the other, it’s just a matter of what you’re trying to accomplish.
With focusing on world building, you almost confirmed yourself a space for your fans to imagine themselves in. And you can have a lot of fun with world building! Creating your own original words, terms and concepts. Your own take on real world events and items and applying it to your story.
However you can’t focus on both so your characters might need to be limit to 2-3 main ones, to balance out your complex and intricate world.
With focusing on characters, you build yourself loyalty based on attachment to characters. This may not yield as much original characters/fan led creation as focusing on world building, but the perks are your characters explode into main stream. Art will be drawn of them, fanfictions will be written about them, headcanons, adaptations etc. By pouring effort into your characters, you create deep and meaningful bonds with specific characters that people will remember.
Maybe 10 years down the line, your fans may not remember everything about the story, or the environment or the world you created, but they will look back one day and go “Good lord, that was an AMAZING character that I still love to this day.” And that’s amazing for you.
This is exactly the case with Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. In my opinion, Hogwarts is wildly more developed than Camp Half Blood for obvious reasons. Hogwarts is a school and CHB is a homebase. Most of the time PJO characters are on quests away form their home base but HP characters are almost always in Hogwarts.
So how do you world build?
1. Of course create your organisation, base it off maybe a real life historical organisation with your own twist.
2. Build a rich and complex backstory, with specific historical figures that contributed to the creation of your organisation.
3. Build ROLES. Build divisions and department in your organisation. Think houses in Hogwarts and cabins in Camp Half Blood. Build specific roles your fans can imagine themselves as. Prefect, Head Girl/Boy, Head Counsellor.
4. Describe describe describe. You have all this amazing lore in your arsenal, now weave and intertwine your characters with them. Make your characters attached to the organisation and want to protect it. Mix your plot and story with it, make it so your organisation MATTERS to the story.
TL;DR
World building is hella important.
