Zarita Zevallos (@infi_nerdy_ ) is a Haitian photographer based in NY. Her work has gained attention for its thoughtful explorations of Black masculinity and male intimacy. Her latest collection, "Pariah", recently featured on @afropunk , addresses the trauma of cages--drawing a link between slavery and a failed prison system. We are starting off our week highlighting the assistant curator of the Whitney Museum, Rujeko Hockley (@rjkhckly ). An alumna of @columbia , Hockley was previously the assistant curator of contemporary art at the @brooklynmuseum where she co-curated "Crossing Brooklyn: Art from Bushwick, Bed-Stuy, and Beyond," and "We Wanted a Revolution: Black Radical Women, 1965-85". Today's young black creative we are celebrating is Khalik Allah, NY-based photographer & filmmaker. Khalik found his passion by photographing members of the #wutangclan with a borrowed camera.
