Here is where I'm gonna try and document my coding learning journey, straight from a no-knowledge beginner who's only handing of code is sailing the seven seas for a few games with a VPN and ad blocker

this is to show my honest feelings as a fail and struggle along the way, and to also be where I ask for help when I'm stuck learning problems, need alternative or free resources as someone with no disposable income (hoenstly i have 0 dinero to my name) seeking this skill as a passion, dream and opportunity, and hoping to gain support and community along the way

My main aims with this skill are:

Gain a transferable skill for employment in any area I encounter.

Make my own games and fun jams as someone with ideas I'd like to put out there.

Try and use my abundance of freetime wisely to get my head straight as someone who hasn't had the best help from teachers due to undiagnosed autism and accidental negligence that left me unhelped by he adults in my youth, so my best teacher is myself to this day.

I also don't know what exact languages I'll start learning, but rn my aims are getting familiar with the simplicity of Godot's guides using Python, then explore C++ for game creation and general programming skills. And at some point I'd like to finally have CSS and HTML handled cus I struggled grasping CSS before and it made me gave up, while HTML I never put in much thought to try further than simple <h>'s and <em> type of effects

Im tryjng to learn the basics of Python but I also just want to start interacting with the programs and making little sprites and environments immediately. But i dont wsnt to be overzealous and underestimate what actual coding eill be like

Keeping a general list of my game ideas as elevator pitchesin in sitcky notes singular sentences:

desktop homescreen garden you can decorate by encouraging pollination

Witch brewery and craftshop to make medicines, tools or decor for creatures

Desktop tamagochi-like where you make your workaholic LU do hobbies and recouepration

Eldritch creature is saddened by humans, so takes care of creatures instead (adult game)

A younger sister catfishes as her sister to take on her job in another continent, thinking all she has to do is clear through toxic landscapes to deliver pastries

i already have desires of what id like to make when im more knowledgable and gained some practice experience

I wanna make a monster women dollhouse petsim like game

i honestly dont knpw how to describe it but like. the player is an eldritch god who finds a monster woman running for her life. seeing her misery and fear of dying by the humans, they pluck her from her fall and place them in an interdimensional hosue that opens like a doll house. the monster is confused, and honestly terrified, and the player isn't good at communicating, so the relationship starts out rough and she hides away

to make her come out you have to make the house comfortable, nice and need fulfilling. maybe you hide as humans and explore their houses to find what people like and enjoy and need for a good life, so you can epxlore it there. nmaybe you look up pet guides to find what a pet needs to have a positive and fulfilling life and prevent zoochosis and aggressive, destructive behaviours. or maybe you directly ask her questions of what she'd like to have, once you 'tune your frquency' to speak like her

all in all, she only comes out whne she's comfortable and fulfilled, exploring the new home she's been placed in

mmmmmmmmmmmm im lovin the idea the more I htink of it. it'll be a lot of work but itll be so lovely

speed learning Python now in retaliation against my AI hooked mother, and I got my first lines of code to work

of course i needed help,a dn my brain is scattered rn BUT Im also using it to figure out how things function, actuallly building on the knowledge and not letting my eyes glaze over

I did use the TutorialsPoint AI assistant to show me what I did wrong, and that's the only 'AI' I'm willing to work with. I hate how it's called AI though, cus it's just...not. at best it's a correcting and guiding dabatase with a chat feature tool, at worst it's a good LLM. Calling it a system chatbot feels more accurate than whatever extrapolation of the term AI you can use for it imo

I've finally finished GDQuest basic, and ngl the application of game terminologies made some things difficult to grasp. idk y I can pinpoint, but wutevs

my brian wants to move on to writing fics but ive been so distracted and busy in th e8 hrs ive been aake yet I am nawt happy that ims till just at level 21 when i wanna finish this today
