“Somewhere in the corner he’s telling her a joke, and I had to stick the boot in, because that’s not how it goes” she explained angrily, as she paced around the room. “You see where I’m coming from?!”

“So this guy decides to quit his job and heads to New York City, this cowboy's running from himself and she's been living on the highest shelf” Lucy explained, moving her hands around. “Are you sure you haven’t seen it?”

“Pardon me for saying this, but you look a little sour. The overworked sour, not really the mean sour,” Callista commented at who she knew to be Lucy Weasley. Her words were delicate though they were HONEST, as she continued, “we could go get a drink? Run away from this dreaded library with me, c’mon, Weasley. Come at least to the kitchens with me.”
Lucy had to glance around a few times to make sure she wasn’t being made fun of, or perhaps confused for one of her cousins. But upon seeing nobody else behind her, nor people laughing and pointing, she went back to the girl as took her words seriously. “Do you... Know who I am?”

“I don’t think you know me much at all.” @luweesley
“No, I know, I just--” Lucy murmured, scratching the back of her head. “I know.”

James kept the wand lit as he took in the sight of his cousin, in her defensive posture, his own shoulders sagging as he sighed. Not even the Forest was deprived of company tonight. Perhaps going back into the castle would have been a better bet. “Not so sure of how fancy it is, but better it be you rather than a Centaur.” Not that James was fearful of anything that lurked in the Forest. He wasn’t often scared for his own safety. “You didn’t feel like sticking around at the memorial either, huh?” His tone was not accusatory as he implied that he too hadn’t wanted to be there. It was just another reminded of how much things had changed. The Minister, Headmistress of Hogwarts, and Head Auror all had to be replaced in one swooping motion. Each of them were in a significant position of power and it had been planned that way. Corruption was making its way into the wizarding world and Hogwarts was not free of that. And this whole memorial was just another display of how much things had changed in a month’s time.
Lucy couldn’t help the snort that escaped her lips. Nothing seemed real about this, but suddenly she would remember it was, this was happening, they were dead, and it would snap her back to reality. In that moment, James was that for her: a snap back to reality. It he was feeling it too, then it must have been real. “That obvious?” she asked him, with the usual mocking tone she used while around him; it wasn’t appropriate for the situation, perhaps, she figured later, but what were they supposed to do? Simply change everything in their lives because the adults had decided it was about time for another war? No, that wouldn’t be her. “If I ran away, do you think I’d make it far?” she asked him, in a completely different tone of voice; a much calmer and sincere one.
excelsiorcamilla:
She was looking for a room to bide her time in. Although it did not happen too often, the library’s usually warm surroundings would turn drab and boring once Camilla stayed in it for too long. In times like this, she’d look for an empty classroom to read and maybe to practice a few spells for amusement. The ever-changing corridors and the moving stairs didn’t bother her as she moved from one classroom to another, peeking to see if there was anyone inside. After a few not so pleasant sights in the preceding classrooms, she was able to find one that seemed empty. The door creaked open as she walked in and her eyes widened as she found a wand pointing straight to her chest. The initial shock faded as she found out who was wielding it. One of the Weasley girls. She raised her arms up in mock surrender and stepped back. “No need for wands. I’ll leave you to your..” Her eyes squinted as she looked around the room. “I’ll leave you to your business.”
The face in front of her looked surprisingly unimpressed, as if the other had been expecting to be faced with a wand. Entering a classroom in Hogwarts meant these things could happen; pointing wands, boiling cauldrons, colorful sparks flying everywhere. There was, however, nothing colorful nor friendly in Lucy Weasley’s expression, upon seeing Camilla stare back at her. She couldn’t help but flare her nostrils as the other’s eyes looked around the room. “Looking for something?” the brunette hissed, her arm trembling slightly, making her grip her wand tighter.
sirxusblack:
I saw myself sitting in the crotch of this fig tree, starving to death, just because I couldn’t make up my mind which of the figs I would choose. I wanted each and every one of them, but choosing one meant losing all the rest, and, as I sat there, unable to decide, the figs began to wrinkle and go black, and, one by one, they plopped to the ground at my feet.
echotremlett:
As soon as she had entered the classroom, Echo had felt rather than saw the girl’s dire need to be alone. There was a desperation to her actions and despite the fact that Lucy was doing nothing that could be considered out of the ordinary, she felt as if she was witnessing something intimate. As quietly and quickly as she could, she slipped her belongings into her bag and out of the room. She had managed to make it only a few feet out the door when her pencil box fell to the ground, giving away her presence. She turned around to pick it up, only to be met by a raised wand. She raised her arms, palms forward, wordlessly declaring that she meant no harm.
“I’m just leaving, there’s no need for threats.”
Lucy remained silent, probably longer than she should have as her intention was nowhere near threatening the other girl. When she finally lowered her wand, the brunette cleared her throat and looked away, back to the opposite wall. She didn’t feel strong enough to even try and rush the other away, but at the same time she didn’t want any company. “Okay” she said, simply, without lookingg back at Echo.
cockneyignorance:
“ How much trouble? Can’t tell you THAT bit, ” he started cautiously with a easy laugh, making all sorts of strange faces as he tried to sort out his words in a non-threatening manner, “ But I mean, they wouldn’t know if you don’t tell, right? That’s usually how things work. I would love it you would, er — goalongwiththat. ” He ends that slurred phrase clumsily, and attempts to make up for it with another one of his lively smiles.
With a short, acted sigh, Lucy crossed her arms over her chest and tilted her head at him. “But, see, that wouldn’t make me, say, a very good girl, would it?” she asked him, clicking her tongue. “And I’m going to ignore the fact that you think it’s that easy to get my help here.”
cockneyignorance:
“ Wow, well — ” he’s going to pretend that he actually comprehended the logic behind Lucy’s blurb and nod vigorously, “ Absolutely. Got it right on target, Lu. ”
“But, hear this, what would happen if I actually had seen something and someone else were to find out? Is this big trouble for you we’re talking about, Neal?” Lucy continued to ramble, mostly to see how long she could keep it up before he pushed past his limit.
cockneyignorance:
“ Right so, er — I’m not sure what you saw, but I’m not sure it actually happened? Like, we can totally not MUCK AROUND wonderin’ what happened and just — let it go. Yeah? ” A sheepish rise in pitch at his last syllable, but he sure looks hopeful.
Lucy blinked as the boy continued to speak, eyeing him disbelievingly. “So what you’re saying is what I just saw might or might not have happened, you’re not sure and you don’t know what I think I saw, but we’re not talking about it? Am I correct?”
viwood:
“Nope, it’s: gulp and go!”
“You are the worst.”
sirensngs:
“If that was meant to cheer me up, you could have picked something, I don’t know, happier?”
“Just take the book, will you?”
viwood:
“Consisting of sex doesn’t mean that it only consists of sex. Get your logic straight, Weasley.”
“Spitters are quitters.”
“Okay, I think we’re done discussing about your sex life. Just as long as you stay away from my cousins, we should be fine.”
“Is that your motto?”
