in my opinion, i think we should make more microlabels to describe the bilesbian or lesboy experience that doesnt use "lesbian" or "bi" in its name
for example i feel a connection to both the lesboy and bilesbian labels. i am a lesbian, and i am genderfluid- however, not only do i feel attraction to fictional male characters, my gender also fluctuates to more of a masculine identity. earlier, i found a microlabel describing just that- fictollosexual.
quoted from the lgbtq wiki
Fictollosexual is a label under the fictosexual umbrella that describes the experience of being allosexual towards some genders, and fictosexual towards others.
this felt very euphoric for me to find, and the label itself acknowledges that attraction without me having to specifically identify as both bisexual and a lesbian.
i have yet to find a label that defines my lesboy experience specifically, but i hope to find one soon so i can more easily describe my experience without going against my own moral compass.
i feel that we should try and do this more often for one reason; to respect the very important definitions of those labels and the communities that use that label.
again, i am a lesbian, and i feel- while both labels are valid, the choice to describe something like what i described as bilesbian- completely going against the definition lesbian has had for years- is very frustrating to see. the same goes for lesboy.
in fact, lesboy feels more slur adjacent in my opinion than any sort of actual label.
once again, i am not saying those labels in their definitions arent valid. like i mentioned before, i feel connected to the definitions of those labels. by definition, i would be a bilesbian and a lesboy. my issue arises with the choice of the names.
i dont think anyone should be harassing lesboys or bilesbians over any of this. i understand our frustrations- IM frustrated. however being cruel does nothing to help our community thrive, especially during pride month.
lets all please try to be respectful. i get that its emotional times, especially in america, but infighting does nothing but harm this beautiful community we have all fostered.
