I just watched the Tadc finale on my own (meaning not in theaters) and I’m realizing that it’s not as bad as I initially thought. I think a lot of my annoyance came from how loud the audience was during the emotional scenes which ruined the mood for me personally. I still do think the show wasn’t very well paced and not as developed as I wished it could have been, but I just learned that Gooseworx was THE ONLY writer handling a bunch of different departments and that made me realize how hard that probably was for her. That takes a lot of energy and the small amount of episodes and issues I found originally make ten times more sense now.

I can’t imaging having to handle that workload. I’ve liked Gooseworx’s stuff for a long time, even before the show and I know her style is very absurdist in the best way possible, so going from that type of magical realism genre to a full length plot based story must’ve been a huge leap, and I think that’s really impressive.

That’s just my opinion though, it’s not like I’m a skilled writer/artist or anything lol

I cannot get over how bonkers half the controversy in this fandom is

People need to grow up and realize that disliking the show’s ending doesn’t make them illiterate and too “stupid” to understand the show’s “good writing”

AND

People who loved the show’s ending are not complete “morons” who don’t understand what “good” media is.

All of this is just pure logical fallacy it’s ALL AD HOMINEM (AND YES I DID HAVE TO LOOK UP THAT UP BECAUSE I COULDN’T REMEMBER IT’S NAME! FUCK YOU)

I absolutely hated that ending, I thought it was badly written and horribly paced, and I honestly wish I liked it, just so I wouldn’t be so pissy about it right now, but I can’t lie to myself and say it’s like mana sent from heaven. Regardless, you don’t see me going around saying everyone is an idiot or gooseworx is an idiot or whatever stupid crap I hear online. People liked it, if it made them feel something, made them look at the world differently or— I don’t know, just made. Them. Happy. What is the fucking point in going after those people?!

You despised the ending? Great! Let’s rant about its terribleness together! You adored that ending? FANTASTIC! I’m GLAD that you felt good and satisfied with it! That’s spectacular, and it’s beautiful that this piece of media touched you so deeply it was able to draw even a fraction of positive emotion from you.
