RAINE ! // pureiimagination.
Edalyn had never been one for long hours of studying or leafing through scrolls and documents, but… perhaps she was right this time around. It had been a long evening of planning, and as much as they hated it, there was only so much any of them could do.
With a soft sigh, hand rubbing and pressing against the strained, worn muscles at the back of their neck, Raine stiffly nodded their head. “You’re right… We’ve got our plan, and staring at these will only help so much,” the Emperor’s Head Bard grunted, pulling their shoulders back and wincing as something in their back made an audible ‘P O P’. A flashing sting of pain before a sense of relief settled into their back.
Having given Eda the only proper chair they had in their hideout, Raine had resigned themselves to standing, and the thought of simply sitting was far more tempting than the promise of any drink Eda could offer. “Alright, but you can keep that apple blood for yourself,” the witch chuckled, stepping around the table and offering their hand to pull Eda up from her seat.
it was true, eda was never the type to enjoy this sort of thing. her whole life, she’d considered herself a more ‘go with the flow’ sort of witch. of course, some things did need careful planning, that she understood, but did it have to be so... dull? lifeless? painstaking? it was a pain in her backside, that much was certain. you could only do so much at the end of the day.
still, the owl lady can’t help but breathe a quiet sigh of relief when raine agrees to the idea of taking a break. raine always worked hard, strived for greatness, and she loved that about them... but getting them to relax when they were so focused did prove to be a challenge more often than not. so in a way, it was a little surprising they’d taken up her offer so quickly.
❝ eeeeexactly. we can iron out the finer details later. ‘cause right now, all this back n’ forth is gonna make my head start spinning. maybe literally... ❞
her voice is laced with an underlying deadpan tone, though it’s quickly followed up by an almost playful eye roll before she looks back to raine. just in time, too, as the loud crack of their back almost causes eda to wince. yep, she definitely knew that all too well.
❝ suit yourself, rainestorm. ❞
after giving raine a half-hearted shrug, eda moves to take their hand, dramatically grunting as she’s pulled upwards into a standing position.
❝ sheesh, that doesn’t ever get any easier these days... ❞
once she takes a second to stretch her arms over her head to loosen up her tense muscles, eda holds her arm out for raine to intertwine theirs with, should they choose to.
❝ shall we? ❞
