“—nevermind.” mike had been able to realize what a stupid idea that had been from the moment the thought carried out into actual words, shared out for her ears to pick on and give her the chance to trash him away. obviously, the temporary truce between them allowed his soft sport to show up. never has he been this angry or upset as he seems to be, whenever and wherever around ava. she knew what buttons to press and didn’t shy away from doing so and even while knowing so, the act of being the bigger man didn’t always work out. she tired him off into impossible lengths. if she knew what he had been referring to or not, didn’t matter. that’s nothing but his more animalistic side taking over, seeing as he hasn’t been exactly sleeping around. it wasn’t even much of an option, seeing as he didn’t have much time to find a decent fuck and even when he did, he didn’t picture himself being that person. fucking around would come into the light of day sooner or later and he didn’t need that to wreck his reputation — even if in fact that would make sense, given his prior sheet, but he has grown up in more ways than one. ready to turn around on his heel, brows furrowed when she spoke again. that must be the craziness taking over them both, right? what happened to hating each other’s guts? and while his old self would be the one to suggest to use that anger and hate for better things, he still felt puzzled. sticking around the living room, he didn’t know what to do; an usual feeling to have when around her but then out of impulse, he made his way upstairs, opening the door to the master room without many cerimonies. “ava? you still awake?”
ever since she had married, ava had been living a farce. from the housewife persona her parents wanted her to accomplish, being supportive, maturing and settling down, things she had never managed to do or shown interest on. instead she lived a double life, one on which she was the party girl who enjoyed being around town with her circle of friends from the elite. the minutes she spent at home, not that many, she spent them making the male’s life a living hell. from the arguments to the fights to the shouting and disagreements, she couldn’t stand him. she enjoyed the truces they’d both manage to go through when it came to public events and meetings with their parents, the only moments they wouldn’t fight. he pissed her off, in a way she couldn’t even measure, sometimes describing it to her closest friends as a feeling far more intense than the energy of a burning sun. the change in her had been incredible, instead of growing up she seemed to have gone immature over the years. from being a bookworm to a party girl, ava had trashed her reputation and she embraced her new one. after waiting for the male, burgundy dress on the floor as the white lingerie adorned her body, she thought that perhaps the comments he had made earlier were meant and to be fair, she’d find it hard to tolerate someone who made her life a living hell too, let alone sleep with them. she had only seen this as a way to get herself relaxed, after all she’d rather do someone she knew was clean. this wasn’t a peace offering nor was she paying him back for columbia, she didn’t expect things to change overnight and her feelings of hatred would not leave either. a hand ran through her blonde hair as her eyes focused on her phone, checking the many invitations to parties she had received, laying with her back facing the door. it wasn’t that late to go out, she could get drunk and then make it back home before the sun was up. her brows furrowed as she heard the male’s voice, biting down on her bottom lip before slowly turning around “yeah, what’s wrong?” settling her phone on the night table as it buzzed, her eyes gazed at the male instead “michael?”
