Been thinking about this au and here's what I have so far:

Luz comes this close 🤏 to finding The Collector while snooping around the castle. Belos catches her and beats her, something that shocks her to her core because he's a huge misogynist and believes that it's wrong to hit girls. Luz has seen the aftermaths of Hunter's treatment, and finally on the receiving end, she decides she needs to run away.

Hunter doesn't go with her.

Luz probably runs into Eda and King out there, earning their trust and learns that she's human. After several months, Luz returns to the Castle to rescue Hunter. Belos catches sneaking in and kills her for her betrayal. I feel like he'd stab her and then poison her with Rot just to make sure she really dies (like in For the Future).

Hunter would have an absolute breakdown upon finding out what happened. He's not as easily disposable in this au so he's locked away for until The Day of Unity.

Since Papa Titan's not actively dying, he gives Luz life and his power to defeat Belos. Luz has an epic showdown with Belos on the day of unity and rips him apart with her power. She wasn't raised or inspired to be a merciful mage like Azura, she's a child soldier like Hunter. She kills him herself, so she and Hunter can be free.

post-story shenanigans with titan!Luz/Amity and siblingisms with Hunter where they can finally express themselves and goof off.
