George Nakashima-inspired student project

This is probably the first and last big furniture thing I make with power tools and the help of my teacher and classmates. I need to take a related art class that will allow me access to the school's power tools. :/

The wood is a soft wood, either fir or pine, but the horizontal piece of live-edge wood near the middle is hemlock.

I tried to mount the shelf onto the wall, but I couldn't make it completely level, so I placed foam paper on the bottom of the wood.

Sewer truck

I smeared Mod Podge gloss on the truck's front window, and it creates a surface that reflects the sewer plants in the last picture. I thought that was really cool.

A cool frame I think

The shells on the frame are from the blood cockle clams that I ate and bought from a Vietnamese market lol. My sister bought sand from the art store, so no beach sand is used.

I'm happy with the way I made it, but there's one more thing that I kind of want to add, maybe a magic broomstick? I got the figurine from Daiso for Halloween last year, but I think it works for Christmas! And the background is something random that my mom got.
