if i let fear control my relationships there are so many ways for the connections to fall through or become weakened. I can’t give people my all if i have one foot out the door afraid to come in. i have to give the people i love and care about a real chance. neither person will be content or will have their emotions hurt/blocked.

October Second

                       how do i  react when i’m scared? why?

first and foremost, this set was a CALL OUT. this set really hit home on exactly what i do and why i do it. so y’all are gonna know me real well after reading this. now let’s get into it:

i react by the six of cups reversed-- i retreat into my past, reminisce on my childhood and past experience. i allow nostalgia to paint a pretty picture for me to keep any sort of optimism and childlike wonder open for me to use. i look forward with a naive hope and sense of joy that can really only be manufactured. i revert into what’s familiar and try my hardest to keep my thoughts on the ‘happier times’. 

the reason why is explained by the eight of cups reversed-- it’s really to keep myself from dwelling on all of the hardships life has thrown my way for all twenty three years of my life. it keeps me in a “keep it pushing” mental state, where if i can break through the shit, i can come out stronger and happier. i make myself remember that good times are ahead and that if i make it through this bad there’s no way i won’t be happy later on.. the problem is that i act like things don’t phase me (trust me, they all cut very deep) and it seems as though i brush off the things that should hurt because i don’t want to let them affect my disposition. i tend to come off as not understanding how the world works. it’s an awful coping mechanism but it’s what’s kept me here functioning to this point.

there are important decisions that can’t be put off. be more aware of how these things affect those around you and let your choices but be influenced more by your inner guide and intuition. take a moment and listen for the truth of the matter not just what you want to hear.

 by becoming more organized in your daily life and taking the lead. don’t allow your emotions to rule you completely. listen to the logical parts in order to become stronger and more independent in your thoughts and actions. don’t rely too heavily on other’s perceptions.
