It was a warm summer evening. Sam was sitting in his room, rummaging through his vinyls. He wanted the sleepover to have the best vibe possible! Abigail, Seb, and Pat don't visit him every day! Oh, Patrick. It was embarrassing how much Sam adored him. Every time he saw him, his stomach twitched in unknown (at least for his immature self at the "ripe" age of 23) ways.
After rejecting a few "alright" but not "banging" records such as "Comedown Machine" by the Strokes and probably some other indie boy shit, Sam landed on his favourite, all time classic - "This is happening" by LCD Soundsystem. The blonde boy started to bop his head along with the funky, electric melody of the indie anthem. What a feeling! Suddenly, his innocent sways were interrupted by a Patrick who entered the house like a goddamn spy!
- Umm… - the farmer hesitated for a second – Hi Sam! – he said with a slight chuckle
- Oh Yoba! – Sam exclaimed and immediately turned to face his guest – You came – he greeted him with a soft smile
- I brought pizza! I know how much you like it! – Pat said putting the dish on the table his host made out of some carboard boxes. Then, to Sam’s suprise he leaned in to hug him.
„Oh my…” – Sam said in his thoughts, certainly taken aback by this turn of events! He could smell some faint citrusy scent in Patrick’s walnut-colored hair. You would assume that this dude would stink of cauliflowers or some other corn. Even, if that was the case, Sam would’ve savored the sensation. The man, consumed by his thoughts, didn’t notice that Patrick let go off him.
- You alright, man? – farmer asked, sligthly towering over the shorter blondie – Seems like something’s troubling you
- Ahhh… No – he chuckled and frantically stratched his neck – You fancy some beer? – Sam didn’t wait for the answer and handed Patrick a can of some joja beer. God, maybe if both of them were slightlyyy squiffy, the farmer wouldn’t notice the way his guest sloppily attempts to form a sentence.
- Cheers, man! – Pat said before momentarily downing a whole can of beer. A streak of brown liquid lingered around his neck – Ah, shite man, do you have some tissues? – He didn’t need to ask twice. Sam immediately leaned in to help his friend. The proximity made them dizzy and hot.
As Sam rubbed the piece of cloth near the Patrick’s jawline, the other man „accidentaly” placed his hand on blonde’s back and patted it. Obviously, as a way to thank him.
After the skater moved away and sat by his bed frame. Pat sligtly kicked his friend’s calf with his bare foot. He looked deeply into his eyes. His host for famous for his cheerful behaviour so the farmer knew something’s troubling him. He just couldn’t place the cause of the frown on his buddie’s face.
- Sammy – he said softly to his friend, almost imitating Jodi – Tell me what’s wrong. Are u worried by Kent? Some house troubles? Lewis being annoying again? Work?
Patrick’s inquires got no response. Instead Sam downed quickly two cans of some lemon flavoured beer.
- You have a crush on someone? – the farmer reached to touch his friend’s tense shoulder as a way to comofort him. He gazed into blonde’s slighlty beery eyes – it was easy to conclude that Sam had had maybe a beer or two before Pat’s appearence. „I guess that’s a way to pregame if you’re confused about your love”. The man thought to himself – Hey – he squeezed Sam’s tense muscle with his warm hand – You can tell me who it is! Penny – you’ve been friends with each other since middle school, or Abi? Maru?? – Pat searched for an answer
Most of the time, the blonde valued Patrick’s willingness to help, but right now he was just being nosey.
- No, Patrick – he said firmly in a way that made his guest’s confidence shake a little – It’s not something… to guess
- So you agree? That you’re in love – he leaned in closer. Both of them had no sense of personal space but right now it bugged Sam – If you’re gay and you fancy Sebastian, that’s fine! – he said with a genuine smile
- Fuck off, Pat – Sam shoved his guest to the side – It’s none of your fucking business. You think that you’re helpful but sometimes you’re just pissing me off.
Patrick’s eyes became glassy for a second. He wanted to apologize and make it up to his best friend but his impulsive personality didn’t allow him.
- You’re the one pissing me off! – the farmer said in a teary tone – I… I’m fucking sorry, dude,… that we can’t find a common language – he barked trying to keep his head high
Sam was taken aback by how emotional his guest had suddenly become. He approached him to comfort him by hugging him. Then, Patrick shoved him off himself. He pushed the blonde. Suddenly, a fight broke out. Sam, whose ego was tormented and confused, jumped at his guest. He was unlike himself at that moment. The man pinned down the brown-haired one. Patrick restrained Sam’s hands by holding him by his wrist. He maintained eye contact with the other man. In their eyes, there was anger seen, but there was also some other magical matter mixed in. The men’s breathing started to gradually slow down. Patrick let go of Sam’s hands. For a good minute, they were mindlessly exhaling into each other’s mouths. In this confusing setting, a hair strand smoothly covered Sam’s red and sweaty forehead. Patrick instinctively brushed it away from his friend’s face. The brief contact between their skin caused an electrical outburst in their nervous system. Both of them gasped for air.
- Fuck it – Sam softly said as he leaned in closer to Patrick’s face. He now noticed the small freckles on his friend’s red face. He hesitated for a minute and then closed the gap between the two of them. Oh Yoba, he felt like he was finally in control with his thoughts.
Patrick accepted Sam’s lips on his. Secretely, he wished for it to happen, ever since he saw him again after over ten years of no contact. God, he has grown so much. Patrick wanted the moment to last forever, so he that he could cherish Sam strongs hands cupping his jawline. He hungrily returned the kiss, in a slighlty awkward way. He burried his calloused from mining ores all day, hands in Sammy’s golden hair. The muscles of their lips danced sloppily. After, a few minutes Sam let go.
- That was nice – he blushed while he still was looking into his „lover’s” eyes. Patrick agreed and they decided to contuine. Since, the hardwood floor in blonde’s bedroom made his guest’s back hurt they moved to Sam’s bedroom. They sat on the matress, which squeked in a funny way that made both of them smile. The skater began to close the gap again, but abrubtly he got off the bed and rushed to his record player. He turned up the music.
- Yeah, all set, now Emily’s and Hayley’s arguments in the neighbouring home won’t interrupt – he chuckled and moved closer to Pat again.
- Is it alright? – the farmer asked as he slid his hands under Sam’s tank top. The other man nodded. He wanted Patrick to feel the muscles he was bragging about. They were, indeed quite hard in touch. He was quite proud of himself when he saw the blush spreading around his lover’s face.
The men were again consumed by their shared activity. Sam’s tongue slightly timidly entered Patrick’s mouth. The muscle explored the warm and humid space. Pat panted into the kiss. The farmers hands weren’t passive. He rolled up his friend’s sleevless shirt in order to get a better look at the wonderful sight that he had been presented with. The saliva was exchanged between the two. Compared to their first heated embrace, the second one was much more steady and slow. They didn’t feel the haste anymore.
Suddenly caught up in the exchange, they didn’t hear the door open. Sammy and Pat didn’t stop giving affection to each other. Their hearts were still dancing. The moment was intimate and beautiful. Sam’s hand drifted to…
- Man, you could’ve told us to come later – Abigail joked as she saw the two man tangled up in the enfold. All a tonce, the large, now prominent blank between their lips, was made again. In the room, apart from Abigail and two lovebirds, there was also Sebastian. His face slighlty suprised but knowing.
- Ha! – Sam chuckled and scratched the back of his neck – Well, that wasn’t planned so that wouldn’t be possible – he stole a quick glance at his partner in crime.
During the rest of the sleepover, the strange incident wasn’t brought up again. Nevertheless, Abigail and Seb were aware of the shameful heart-eyes that the culprits were giving each other. They exchanged a telephatic smirk when it turned out that Patrick would be leaving last. Maybe Sam’s and his unfinished business turned out to be much more urgent than the creeping thought of unwatered crops?
