"Good morning!" The Ranger waved down at Raine and Cloud while sitting comfortably on a high beam that he had scaled up to.

“Please get down.” Cloud groaned

“Let him have his fun! Besisdes, I like seeing him.” Raine stated

Alarith pointed to a wire around the beam and raised a thumb at the exasperated healer.

"Don't worry, I couldn't fall if I tried."

He leaned down to hear him better, holding on to the beam while he placed his other hand behind his ear.

Fortunately for Alarith, he’d crashed inside of the vessel known as Paradise, home to the Wardens. He was quickly discovered and brought to Cloud, the resident medic, so he could watch over and care for the strange xenos

He muttered, rubbing where his head had hit the wall.

"Wardens? You're no humans I'm familiar with."

Meditation helped the High Regent focus his spellweaving abilities. The Weft here was much more volatile, and it had taken the whole ship some getting used to. Many of the Wardens were still struggling a bit. He worried for them, being cut off from the Mistress had been hell to begin with, now they were dealing with foreign humans and strange apostles of stranger gods. His presence in the Weft was unique, the mark of something much different than what may were used to seeing.

Feeling another presence, the white-haired male looked around, cautious.

+Who are you?+

Once more, the Crimson King had cast his gaze onto the galaxy, looking for any promising psykers. There were more that were cropping up, but unfortunately not all could be saved. Especially those within the Imperium that could still see the light of the Astronomican. Its iron grip was beginning to choke out the dim, flickering lights from the countless worlds where people were realizing their potential. 

It was on this little journey of his that he felt something markedly different. It was not alien in origin, but nor was it anything definite or familiar. An odd presence. Curious, he shifted his attention towards it, and that was when he heard it speak to him.

+I could easily ask the same thing,+ he replied. +I am Magnus, of Sortiarius.+

Lunaris hadn’t expected an actual response from anything, let alone a person. There were spellweavers here! Which meant hope was not lost.

+I am Lunaris, of the Wardens. I had not expected a response. There are spellweavers here??+ Spellweavers were no doubt their word for psykers

The world I rule is full of them almost exclusively -- save the beastmen who wander some of the barren lands,+ Magnus answered. Another psychic population? That could be quite promising.

+I have not heard of your kin before. Pardon my ignorance, but who are the Wardens? Wardens of whom?+

+We are the Wardens of the Floating Palace. We come from Eden, a place where spellweavers make their home. Under the Mistress’s guidance we were created to serve as soldiers.+ Lunaris explained. That DID explain the strangeness of the psychic signature he gave off

A world with a purely psychic population? Magnus would have been able to see a world like that by now. Perhaps they were a minority utilized by their society, and he simply misinterpreted Lunaris’ meaning. 

+Where is Eden? And who is the Mistress?+ he asked next. +I have not sensed a world such as it before, nor one such as you.+

+Far, far away. The Mistress is our leader and creator. She made us wardens. You cannot sense it not only due to distance, but the Mistresses protection, and the technology we use. It disrupts the signal so that none of the Wefts children find us.+ Lunaris explained. +We were trying to lose an enemy and got stuck..we..we don’t know where we are, and I admit many of are humans on the ship are terrified of the other human populace here...+

“The doomed one calls to me. Why? Do you seek salvation even as your soul is consumed?” “Not for myself. I seek salvation for Eden and her people.” A look of surprise flashed upon the face before her. “You...wish for them to be saved?” “I care not what happens to me. I have already dug myself too deep. But they can still be saved before the armies of that wretch I call a lover reach them.” Her voice was determined. Even as she felt the infernal pull upon her very soul, she resisted the urge to give in to stop her own suffering. The creature before her seemed to analyze her, looking for signs of falter. But she did not. “I cannot save them all.” The voice warned. The woman still held strong. “I will sacrifice myself. They will be distracted long enough that yours will have an opening to pull the ships and people through. My sons and daughters will fight on your behalf.” The creature contemplated for a moment, then it rose sharply with a nod.  “I will save your people in exchange for your sacrifice. It will not be in vain.” It said, as her presence faded....
