Here's a look at how I laid down pages for my oneshot Scarlet Vagabond for Saturday AM's Summer of Manga class of 2023!

Saturday AM - Global Comics

Saturday AM is the most diverse manga-style comics anthology in the world and now, it's an APP! Since 2013, the brand has fascinated fans fr

First rough pass, salvage any of the sketches and replace poor ones with better ones, do the inks, then export it from SAI2 to Photoshop to do lettering and tones.

I had both pages right next to eachother so I could read the flow, and to make double page spreads easy if I wanted to do them.

This was my typical layer setup for each. If I ever needed art to pop out of frame I'd make a folder above the paneling for that.

Simple setup!

Doodles from today, trying to get my sketching more streamlined and skip the undersketching part.

I used to be able to draw without lots of construction and undersketching, but I lost that confidence under critical examination of my work.

I'm hoping to get back to skipping the undersketch part of drawing again, so I can get things done faster.
