The problem with the heated rivalry fandom, especially on twt (but it's basically bleeding into every other socmed site and fandom) is that the introduction of kpopstan-isms (solo stanning/akgae behaviours, hotel and airport stalking, fabricating rumors and hate trains, rpfing to the max, stalking aquaintances and signficant others on instagram and general delusion) into tv/actor spaces is killing the natural ecosystem.

This shit is already unhinged whithin kpop spheres but at least they've had time to aclimatize to it. I promise everyone's fandom experience would be much more enjoyable if before engaging with anything you just quickly considered – am i partaking in kpop stan behaviour? And if yes, please reevaluate.

in my version of events after ilya and shane have been bickering over whether to get a cat or a dog for two years ilya finds the mangiest possible white and orange calico kitten stuck in a sewer well on one of his runs and bonds with it immediately. but he knows his schedule is awful and he can't let shane win so he takes it to harris who offhandedly mentions that barn cats don't end up living too long. upon which ilya admits defeat and condemns sewer cat to a long aristocratic russian name and a life living indoors in better conditions than most canadian children.

I’m currently obsessed with the idea of Ilya’s niece going to college in Canada and reconnecting with him. But have we CONSIDERED. Ruby Pike excitedly bringing home her girlfriend for the first time. Hayden and Jackie doing their oversupportive ally parent thing freaking out over making the perfect dinner. Hayden opens the door to his daughter hand-in-hand with a tall girl with curly blonde hair and a very familiar smirk. She introduces herself as Irina Rozanova and Hayden’s blood runs COLD. Jackie and Irina are already queening out. Hayden’s still standing at the front door in shock. The possibilities here are hilarious and I demand more Pike daughter/Rozanov niece fics immediately

Shane & Rose: Queening out, bff vibes for days. Casually intimate in extremely platonic ways; will exchange kisses and fall asleep on top of each other during their bi-monthly in person meetups. Rose is the first person Shane talks about Ilya to in detail and she's the most enthusiastic about it. On the flip side, they encourage each other's disordered eating habits and normalize some extremely fucked up experiences (think that conversation where Shane casually brings up kidnapping threats).

Ilya & Svetlana: Ride or die, extremely emotionally stunted unless they're forced to be mature for the sake of the other person's mental well being. Case in point, will encourage each other to get wasted and pick up rather than deal with their feelings, until they reach a boiling point. Great sexual chemistry, but crossing the line into romantic feels incestuous. Pretend to blackmail each other frequently with silly teenage anecdotes that they wouldn't actually share with other people on the pain of death.

Shane & Svetlana: Stilted and awkward at first because of Shane's unresolved jealousy issues. Lock into the same wavelength once they start talking about hockey and never struggle to connect again. Also bond over their concern for Ilya, which is not as fun for him as he was envisioning it to be because now he's being browbeat into taking care of himself by the only two people in the world he cares enough about to listen to. Svetlana will occasionally bring Shane out to the club just to watch him squirm but she also tells him stories from Ilya's childhood so he will let her torment him a little, as a treat.

Rose & Ilya: Take the longest to warm to each other, not for lack of trying from Rose's end. Once Ilya gets over himself they actually get along great, bitching about every single annoying person in their lives to each other and sharing candid shots they got of Shane being cute (his natural state, so there are a lot of them). Go out clubbing together and give off major power couple vibes on the dance floor despite having negative sexual chemistry.

Shane casually lore drops a time he had a stalker and Rose is like oh worm! me too – mine threatened to murder and dismember me, NOT fun, we had to get the LAPD involved it was such a hastle – wait when was this??

Shane: uhh after the kidnapping threats but before that guy threatened to bomb the Bell Centre because we were on a losing streak.

Ilya has to interrupt to ask when the fuck any of this happend and why it's his first time hearing about it

Shane: remember when i had to change my number?

Ilya: yes... when you said you were getting too many spam calls?

Shane: and the bomb thing was 2015ish i think?? Im pretty sure i told you about that.

Ilya: you mean when you texted and i quote game cancelled tonight, issues with the arena, thumbs down emoji?? Issues with the arena – you meant a fucking bomb???

Shane: i mean they arrested the guy and nothing ever came of it so it cant have been that big of a deal!

Ilya: They arres– IT WAS A SUBSTANTIATED THREAT?!?!?

Shane: it really wasn't a big deal!! Its just a famous person thing (Rose nods sagely, both of them tragically convinced these are normal life experiences)

Ilya: *deep breath* okay, tell me about these stalkers, both of you🫩
