Happy Easter!!!
Dresses were made back in 2011 and are made from several thousand peeps and lots of colored sugar.
You aren't the authority on what a nerd is, your attitude definitely isn't sexy, and you are in no way entitled to tell me what I can or cannot like.
I’mma get serious for a hot minute. If you just want photo posts and Doctor Who reblogs, keep a-scrollin’, because I am about to have opinions and they might get intense.
Click through the break to read about my experience with the many-headed beast that is nerd misogyny and popular-geek hate.

It was too hard to pick favourites from our Hocus Pocus photoshoot this weekend! Here’s a few, though.
We shot both on a white backdrop set-up, and in a more “scenic” location. I really, really love the outdoor shots.
I’ll have them all up at my site soon: http://kelldar.com

I'm in freaking love with Sakizo artwork <3_<3
Kathleen was recently in a car accident that took her mother from her and put her in the ICU. Donations for her and her family in their time of need.
Please, if you have the funds, donate to this. If not, share it. This isn’t to fund someone’s hobby or help them get to a con. This poor girl lost her mother and will have a mountain of medical and funeral bills. They’ve reached their “goal”, but lets show everyone just how amazing the cosplay community really is. Kathleen is inspiring and going through what will probably be the hardest point in her life.
Please donate, any amount helps. Also, please reblog/share/tweet to help get the word out.
Note that for those who CANNOT donate, we are putting together a video of cosplayers in costume wishing her well. Whether it’s a picture with a sign saying “we love you”, a video with notecards, or with you talking, anything helps. PLEASE DO NOT BE NEGATIVE BUT ONLY POSITIVE (ie: You are cared about, My heart goes out to you, etc) All videos and pictures can be emailed to [email protected] Please share this post around, I want make sure Kathleen feels how much we love her, even if she is a stranger. Cosplayers support cosplayers.
For everyone who enjoys entering competitions but doesn’t act like a jerk about it, because I’ve seen a lot of “well I’m not a competitive cosplayer, I do it for fun.” lately. We do it for fun too!
Of all the bad things this show caused, the one that got me the most was making everyone hate competition cosplayers. We love cosplay just as much as non-competers and we are super dedicated to the craft. Stop acting like we're the bad guys ;-;

MY HEART!
When I was watching Heroes of Cosplay for the first time, I noticed the horrible quality of the images featured in the episodes. It was such a low quality that mirrored the resolution that you would get if you downloaded the image from Facebook. I next noticed how they didn’t show the watermark/logo in any of the pictures shown. It would start out partially zoomed in on image and would either pan out to a corner (not showing the watermark) or zoom in more. I posted a status how it seemed fishy for them to go through this much work to hide the watermarks. I was wondering why a tv show would accept such low quality images that just turned into a blur mess when shown on the screen. It turns out that they didn’t have permission for majority of the photos used online for the website and on the show itself. BGZ and other photographers are now standing up an speaking out. The company responsible for the Tv show have committed copyright infringement and legal actions seem to be on the horizon. Please share this and spread awareness on this matter. Show them that we, as a community and hobby, do not appreciate what they are doing. The law is the law.
With Heroes of Cosplay being “about competitions” and people claiming “That’s just the competitive side of cosplay”, as a competitor, judge, and cosplay department head, I wanted to clear up some misconceptions.
People finish cosplays in the hotel room - Now, I am SLIGHTLY guilty of this. I’ve...
Rebloging this great clarification post about cosplay competitions. I've been trying to stay out of commenting about Heroes of Cosplay, but I do have to say I hate how everyone is bashing competition cosplayers bc of this show. Many cosplayers, including very popular ones, are saying things like "oh I would NEVER compete, don't worry" like its some terrible thing and we are scumbags. Well I'm a competition cosplayer, and I have a ton of fun at contests. I have made so many cos-friends, turned out some great costumes I normally wouldn't have the motivation for, and also achieved some wins, which is great for self-esteem. Competitions are FUN! There are many many ways to enjoy cosplay, and contests are just one way. I will continue to do them until I hopefully get asked to judge one day. ^.^
Hello lovelies!
I wanted to mention this awesome project that is having a KickStarter called Into the Horizon.
The one holding the KickStarter is one of my favorite cosplay photographer Bentpic5 !! I think the idea of breaking away from the con scene to take pictures that are more suited…
