As Ferris and Sloane kiss in front of a stained-glass window, Cameron concentrates on George Seurat’s painting “A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte”. Explaining the pointillist style — and moviemanking, teenage angst and adult insecurity — Hughes says, “I always thought this painting was sort of like making a movie, the pointillist style,” he says. “You don’t have any idea what you’ve made until you step back from it. … The closer he looks at the child, the less he sees. But the more he looks at, there’s nothing there. I think he fears that the more you look at him the less you see. There isn’t anything there. That’s him”. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986) dir. John Hughes
”Fuck Blake, I’ve known him for too long. Um, Blake’s just my buddy. Just kidding.” [x]
Ali Mahdavi:
I fell in love with Miss Fame and Violet the second I saw them at the MiuMiu Party in Paris during last Couture. I’m always very picky concerning hair, make up and style when it comes to glamour but I was amazed to see how they had already mastered all the codes for their young age. I approached them that night: they were genuine, adorable and unpretentious without knowing I was a photographer - otherwise I would never have offered them to shoot for Candy Magazine. Luis , in his eternal wisdom, believed in the project and… voilà! They were visions, now they are friends.
omg when Fitz is like “who has more money than the United States of America?” and Cyrus and Mellie start listing countries, it was brilliant and hilarious.
THAT MOMENT OMFG
*rewatched it yesterday, still not over it*
