Ok, Let Me Introduce Myself…
In 2009, I started a online journal called the “Upstairs Apartment” on this little thing called @tumblr...
At the time, I had just finish my freshman year of high school and was diagnosed with Epilepsy. Tumblr gave me the chance to transcribe my poetry and essay work during high school even some of my best university work.
However, like any artist. I became protective with my work. When Verizon purchased Tumblr and changed the guidelines a majority of photography work was then flagged. Especially after visiting the proclaim Art History Museum in Washington D.C.
In 2017… I left Tumblr for personal and family reasons by 2018 I ultimately archived “Upstairs Apartment” on to WordPress as a way to persevere a piece of my childhood history.
In 2022. I decided to rejoin Tumblr.
I don’t think I’ll ever restart ‘Upstairs Apartment’ here on Tumblr. I am however excited to rejoin the Tumblr community with my official handle (@lydiamjofficial) that I’m known for on all other socials. Ordinary Happiness will be built around the same motto on the idea “for the love of creativity and storytelling”, specifically to showcase artists we treasure and “family friendly” stories.
Your probably wondering what the hell I’ve been up to since disappearing off the your scroll bar. 😂
A whole lot of traveling.
Working several Broadway workshops. (but that's another story)
One to many weddings.
Ran out poster board for attending BLM & March of Lives Protest.
Help my family start a business.
Awhile, casually joining the corporate world … (I still don’t have a cubicle though)
I guess the most important thing to know about me is that I'm a proud Honduran indigenous person of color. Who fights for those willing to relearn the language taken from them, or those who were tease because some of us are bi-racial / afro-latinx, or finding a way to weave indigenous beliefs with our Christian upbringing.
