Okay, so I’ve had time to think it over and...
lets just go over this scene real quick.
The paladins have been stranded in space for God-knows-how-long, and are slowly starting to go insane. Obviously, morales are pretty low considering the fact that they’re literally dying with seemingly no hope of getting out of this situation. Tempers are flaring up, and Keith makes a really unkind remark to Allura about her father’s leadership and bravery.
You can see how much this upsets and angers Allura, and she responds with a nasty comment of her own.
I found this to be really interesting.
She said “you left us”, and if you actually watch the scene, you’ll notice that theres a lot of pain in her voice. I mean, you can really hear just how much him leaving to join the Blade of Marmora actually hurt her, even though when it happened, she said this:
She seemed to be totally understanding. Sad, but otherwise accepting of his decision.
Sooooo… either she grew more resentful of his absence over time, or him leaving affected her a lot more than she originally let on. Hmm.
But what I found even MORE interesting was Keith’s reaction to that.
What does Lotor have to do with anything? And why is Keith acting like it was solely Allura’s decision to trust Lotor when forming an alliance was something the whole team agreed on doing? Allura just happened to fall for Lotor during that time, but other than letting herself get manipulated by his charm, she really didn’t do anything wrong.
There’s no reason Keith should be mad at her for that. He should be mad at Lotor, of course, but not Allura, and the only reason he could possibly have to be upset with her is if he’s…. jealous.
But of course, he would never admit to that. He would never admit to being angry with her at all under any normal circumstances. But I guess… dire situations bring out the truth in people.
I don’t know… I just found this interesting. 😏
