i think the Doyalist reason the corax have the best relation with the garou is as a reference to the IRL relation many corvids and wolves have.

Truth! By the time the first Corax book came out, wolves were already reintroduced to yellowstone and I think that started to put wolf research into the mainstream. It wouldn’t surprise me if they were inspired by that as studies between wolves and ravens were pretty scarce until then I think. Some of the older research books I have on wolves only mention them travelling together in passing. I just wish WW had continued looking at this research by the time revised came out because David Mech had released a paper in 99 debunking his alpha theory though he scrutinized it even earlier than that. 😅

Now I wanna cook something up with Gurahal and Garou since bears also travel with lone wolves sometimes, even feasting on the same carcass together.

it is i, kitsune!anon and i've come with another question: in World of Darkness, if 2 changing breeds of different species (example: Nuwisha + Garou = hypothetical were-coywolf) what would such a hybrid be called? 2 halves changing breed, a chimetis?

Welcome back anon!! Thank you for the patience as I’ve been busy but I have been pondering this question of yours. WoD seem to take their naming conventions from a lot of different places so this is a fun thing to think about. Realistically there would probably be different words for it even within Garou culture but White Wolf didn’t always do that so I’ll try to stick to their style. I could have seen the term Half-breed being used by WW back in the day but that has negative connotations and history which I guess totally fits how WW used to operate 😅. To stick with Greek conventions I like you bringing up chimera. Chimetis is interesting and also has me wondering about how a mix would be treated by the different societies and spirits but I don’t want to make this too long of course haha (Stargazers would probably accept them the most as chimera is their totem). Chimerian perhaps? Would make it mean more of “ ‘a person’ who has genetically distinct creatures in their dna” but that might be making the word too doubled in almost the same meaning. Now I wanna go study word roots and some more Greek mythology to see what I can come up with. I wish there was lore about this because a Were-CoyWolf is so interesting to me. Were-Liger too! Imagine a group of ronins comprised of wolf hybrids ahhhh that would be so fun.

i wonder how many Kitsune, in World Of Darkness, live in the MidWest because of the Japanese concentration camps the USA had during WW2 and the subsequent post-WW2 migration of Japanese-Americans from the West Coast to the Midwest

Ooohh this was really interesting to think about! Would make for a cool character concept I wonder if anyone has done it. Realistically I don’t think many would even want to leave to go to America in the first place since they’re very established in their home countries I believe. On top of how rare and difficult it is for one to be born since the non Kitsune parent almost always dies. Being good tricksters and their lack of delirium I think helps them stay out of trouble so they could have likely avoided the camps but I def think would have moved midwest along with the people of their culture. In the modern day there are likely a good chunk of Kitsune in the States though since travel is so much easier. Stray Kitsune are also probably pretty rare but it makes for an interesting story to have an orphaned Kitsune in the states during the time of WW2.

So I guess my answer would be very very few but not impossible.
