Jsyk every time I see your "ads" in the tags, I do the same as I do with every group: I report all but one of the posts I come across as spam
Ah, it’s the first day of 2020 and we’re still gatekeeping.
Honestly, I’ve been trying to avoid answering any negative anons on the main because I’m trying to create a safe and welcoming space here, but your actions will kill this group all for your own personal agenda.
I remember the first time I ran this group in 2017 finding that there was a small handful of people in the gay rpc who were incredibility controlling and toxic and upon coming back I had hoped that that mentality would have matured, especially considering the fact you’ve chosen to write mature content, but sadly it appears that for those specific people that has not been the case.
To be honest, I don’t believe groups have any more rights than indies to use the tags, I believe both have equal rights to it since it’s a general tag. I would never try to police it unless someone was actually being harmful to others here. It shows a gross amount of entitlement to think you get to decide what goes into the tags and what doesn’t, especially considering all the tags I use for this group are general tags. I’m not tagging things into tags that are actually specifically for indie players. (ie; indie gay rp, indie smut rp, indie gay smut rp), the tags I chose to use are general, and the content I’m posting is relevant to it. I’m sorry someone has put it in your head that you should get to control the tags like this, but I’m afraid your entitlement is hurting groups.
I personally did have someone come to me and actually reasonably talk to me in a way that wasn’t about policing the tags, and after that I cut our promo blog posts down by half, and I no longer run a nightly queue on the main. I have made so many changes to the way I normally admin groups because I’m trying to cater to the handful of people in this community who ruin things by thinking they get to chose who uses the tags, but you are making it impossible to run a group like this. You are quite literally killing groups all because you what? Don’t think they should use the general tags that fit the content they’re doing?
Those posts aren’t just for whatever tag you’re policing, they go out into all different tags to reach people, many of these tags are busier and those posts get buried within an hour or two, and now you’re not allowing groups to have any reach to bring in players, and without players groups die. I know you don’t appreciate having people burry your posts in the tags, because they might not get seen, but you are literally making it impossible for groups to be seen. You’re complaining about groups hurting indies, only to literally go out of your way to hurt groups. That’s hypocrisy, and not to mention a waste of your time to do it every single time, you could just block the group, or use tags that are actually there specifically for indies which groups wouldn’t promote in because they’re not general tags. You’re not some kind of hero in the tags, you’re gatekeeping content that has every right to be in the tags.
If you take the time out of your day to do this to every single group, I guarantee you there are much better causes to take part in, you know ones, that are actually hurting people, like sexism, racism, homophobia, and yet here you are making your hill to die on groups using the tags that they should be using.
Stop giving indie players a bad name because of your harmful behaviours towards others, and get better hobbies in 2020.
