I'm watching some video essay/biography videos about notable composers lately, n what stands out to me is that so much emphasis is placed on having a "good story" along w distinct practices n it made me think of my own story n identity as a composer

I'm nobody, not part of an elite troupe nor a great individual, I'm just a trans woman nearing middle age w no means to get my work performed so I use sample libraries n synthesizers n my own instrument collection to make opuses in the form of instrumental albums w no notation to leave to other performers, I don't hate atonality nor neoclassicism so there's no dripping w viscera quotes n if there's anything distinct about the music is that I care about texture more than anything so I don't super care how the music moves but if it goes anywhere it goes lightly

I wanted to be a classical guitarist until I found out that I had to do rehearsals regularly n still remembered how bad it felt to be rejected for a school play n that is why I'm DIY
