The Last Breath || Oneshot
"I'm sorry, you don't deserve to suffer either." She spoke. The knife in my shoulder was ripped out and replaced into my throat. My screams were barely heard, I tried to gasp for air--it was no use. The knife was repeatedly stabbed into my esophagus. It wasn't until the fifth painful stab when i shared my last breath with the world.
My eyes fluttered with a close, my body went limp. I was dead. I felt my eyes open once more with a gasp of breath, I looked over to see my body lay under the tree, my clothes stained with my own crimson blood. A hand held my mouth, i was looking at the limp body that once was mine. A soft tear escaped my eyes, I was a spirit now. I watched Talon shove Cashmere into the tree, yelling into her face. I tried to place my hands onto Talon, to pull him away--but it was no use, my hand wasn't able to contact his live body.
My screams were not heard--yet again. I still didn't want the poor girl to suffer. But Talon wanted her to, I watched her cough for air, her face buried in the sand. She was gasping for breath as i was. She was going to share the same fate as me, but it wasn't until Talon was stabbed into the stomach when i knew whom won the fight. The crimson blood stained his shirt, he was slowly dying--another tear left my eye. She managed to protect herself, and I was glad. I chose to try and attack her for injuring my partner, I knew i shouldn't have.
I watched Talon have his last breath, I watched his body fall to the ground, I heard his cannon. His eyes remained open, his body was empty. He was gone, just like me. I watched Talon's soul fly from his own body. My left hand held onto his right, "Come on Talon, it's time to go to our new home. It will be better than Five and the Capitol altogether." I tugged on his hand pulling him into the bright light that shown. Small tears escaped my eyes--with a last look at my body--i tugged on Talon once more. And together, we walked into the light.
Panem wasn't a place for me, I had no where to fit in. Maybe the other world would be better for Talon and I. And maybe, just maybe, I will no longer be an Outsider.
