After training with Pixel and Gabe, I needed a bit of time to clear my head. Training without conversation and simply keeping my mind on the task. I wish I could count the reminders of home that I'd thought of today, and training in something unfamiliar would hopefully take my mind off of those reminders. When I saw that the pool station was empty, I took my chance.
After changing into the provided black bathing suit, I stepped over to the edge of the pool and marveled at how clear the water was. Andre had told me about the beaches back home, and I could only imagine how much more beautiful they would be compared to this pool. Still, I had never been around a body of water larger than a small pond.
I dipped my toe in, only to feel the shock of the cold water shoot up my spine. One of the trainers on the edge of the pool jumped in with perfect form and created hardly a splash on the surface of the water. Once he surfaced, he shook the hair out of his eyes and stood awaiting me to jump in as well.
I stepped off the edge of the pool and was surprised by just how quickly I adjusted to the water. Thankfully my feet could reach the bottom because as soon as the trainer tried to move me on from floating to actually swimming, it was a sad moment. I had never been in water before and it was a bit frightening how much control it had over you.
After training for what seemed like hours, my limbs felt like jelly and I learned how to move around in the water while still being able to breathe. The front stroke was easy enough, the back was self explanatory, and I had learned how to hold my breath under water while still being able to have complete use of both my arms. Quite convenient. Yet very difficult to learn at first.
I'd been dying to visit the library station, it was almost like an addiction to pull me into something I had very few weaknesses in. Almost like a nerdy vision of kryptonite, plus who would it hurt for me to do a little review on things before all tributes enter the prison known as the arena.
I trotted over to the library, smiling brightly at the sight of shelves on top of shelves of books before snatching a book off of the shelf and plopping down on the rug. As I opened the hand to hand strategy book, I looked up to see who claimed the retrieving foot steps. "Hello, Oberon."
After training a bit by myself, I decided that I was better off simply trying to learn how to use a weapon alone. Able to focus all of my attention on that one thing and not having to keep up a conversation as well. I hadn't attempted swords yet, and I had a feeling I would be just as bad with them as I was when I first attempted with the other weapons.
The trainer at the station handed me a shorter sword, one that fit my height and stature, and sent me off to a dummy. After taking a few swings and realizing that I was doing little besides cutting up the dummy a bit, I heard footsteps behind me and realized that I wasn't exactly alone at the station anymore.

As I finished my chat with Lumber I wrote some note about him and finished my coffee. Persephone and Septimus were busy so I decide to wait and look around to see the tribute train, talk and pretend they were better that they already are. Finally a trainer came to me saying that the boy from three wanted to train with me. I smirk and took his files.
After a quick reading about him I decide to walk where he was standing near the axes station. «Well hello M. Caduceus.» I finally said when I was near him. «Ready for a training with me?»
I had never been much of a cook. I know how to make beans and rice and stuff like that but I've never skinned an animal. So the cooking stations is the way to go for me. When I get there I spot an unfamiliar tribute. Meeting new people is mostly pleasant.
It was the fourth and final day of training-and i noticed they added a new station. Now you were able to meet the Gamemakers themselves, before they send you to your death. How exciting. I saw the small crowd form around the three Gamemakers, so i decided to make a first impression later.
Instead I walked to the tracking station, if I didn't want to stave i was going to know how to track an animal. The station was an environmental forest, filled with animal--and human--foot prints. The trainer briefly told me what i was suppose to do before he let me venture into the artificial forest.
Seconds later, before i entered the dark, creepy forest, I was joined by another tribute. I turned on the heels of my feet to be faced with a girl. She was oddly familiar, her name was on the tip of my tongue. She must be a Career, her beauty said so. I held my hand out, "Hello! My name is Lyra."
If she was a Career, then it would be smart to be nice to her. I don't need enemies, and she might be as nice as Abigail or Acacia.
As I walk into the training room I looked around and is pleased to see that despite injuries most of my tribute still showed up for their last day if training. I smirk as some stop training to look at me and I go sit on a chair of the new station we create. I was pleased to see that it didn't take twenty minutes for a tribute to come. "Well good morning M.Brooke. " I simply said putting my coffee cup down.
