alright so i don’t usually use tumblr all that much because i’m illiterate 🙈 BUT i felt like this might be the best way to reach taylor

i just finished watching Miss Americana and i have never had more love and appreciation for her. a lot of scenes broke my heart and made me cry, but i’m glad that i was able to watch it and witness what she was experiencing over the past few years. i just really wanna talk about the whole portion of her deciding to publicly discuss politics- that was probably something really hard for her to do. standing up to your parent(s)/family can be really scary and i’ve been in a similar situation. i’m grateful that she, YOU, took this stance and stood up for what you believed in. and thank you for publicly supporting gay rights, you have no idea how much of a role you’ve played in my life. i wasn’t sure if i was gay or not back in 2014 when WTNY came out, but it made me hate myself less because my favorite person and the one i looked up to, sounded like she was saying it was okay. i really struggled with the fact that i was gay for most of my life growing up and kind of accepted it right before the marriage equality act was passed. anyways i’m getting off track but just thank you for being there when i felt like no one else was! and thank you for reinforcing your beliefs with your acts over the past several years. idk where i’d be without your support honestly.

and just thank you for being someone who i can look up to, i feel like we stand for a lot of similar things and it just feels good to know that you “have my back” or something like that 🥺 i keep saying thank you a lot, but i just can’t say it enough.

keep speaking your mind and standing up for what you feel is right, i’m not going anywhere and neither are any of the rest of us. your songs, your albums, your art, your stories- they cannot be defined or validated by tv show awards or people who make a living on ripping others to shreds.
