It’s been over one year since I have opened my creative vein to spill onto the virtual universe. I felt a knock at the doors of my sacred space and felt the need to express my reflections. Time has passed, as it always does. I have spent the year working, working on my self, practicing, practicing patience, traveling, and traveling to new and familiar places. I have steadied my stance on stable ground and explored new dimensions and returned to past instances in vain. I have made it through another year. I turned 25 and have grown respectively. I have looked through the eyes of a child. I have wondered where the next 25 will take me. I have explored the corporate world, which has been a whirlwind of emotion. I have set goals for the future. I have found, in my journey, endless amounts of gratitude, and albeit the occasional setbacks, have remained as mindful as I could. I have found wholeness and emptiness within and without you. When I found myself at a loss, I looked beyond. I have changed my mind everyday. I have counted my blessings. I have reinvented myself through and through. Strength, after all, is all that remains in the face of adversity.

As I sit here, I pull my thoughts out from under I think back, think forward, think thoughts of thunder

Memory flood races through my nostalgic veins I wonder how we ended up swimming in storm drains

Wherever we have gone, wherever I have been, has led me here I have laced my words to be stronger than they appear

The melody of our voices has softened my heavy heart I wish I could piece together that which has fallen apart

The filmstrip of my mind rolls endlessly in colorful scenes I long to visit these far away places in my day dreams

My feet take steps toward that which we have lost I dream of memories of the stars that we have crossed

// Hard to say at this point exactly what has been lost/ gained over the past few days, weeks, months for me... I know that I have been blessed in many mysteriously cosmic ways, for which I am endlessly grateful. I believe that nothing lasts forever, albeit coincidences truly make me wonder about about the ebb and flow of the universe. Especially, lately. I was told when I reached the precipice, it would be blissful. IT was not. It was paradoxically not bliss, quite contrarily, it was emptiness.

I felt contrived and convoluted and absolutely destroyed... As a result of the choices I have made up until today, I know that I have been given many chances to redeem myself. To be resilient. To not accept defeat. I am alive. Freedom is free. Freedom is I. I am free.
